The word's of Gilbert Chesterton are set to the tune "King"s Lynn" by Vaughn Williams O God of earth and altar, bow down and hear our cry, our earthly rulers ...
Great to hear this lovely Vaughan Williams tune, but can anyone post a
rendition of this wonderful hymn by a church or cathedral congrgation/choir
+ organ?
Eh, a lot of hymn recordings are really slow, which is fitting if played in
huge cathedrals but gets boring in a small church. I do think if you're
gonna take it fast though you need to alter the articulation and style
somewhat to make it more convincing and spirited...IMHO of course. Great
hymn!
oh! do you have a metronome inside your head?? Where is the music? You play
like a robot. It's very sad for so wonderful music! I hope you will find
what is the music.
