I built a 264 lbs ar 15 before sandy hook for just under 800 dollars. Then the UN was pushing their small arms treaty and every one was grabbing all the guns. Sold that thing on gun broker for 1,800 bucks:)

Interesting points. I can't say I've ever bought a gun thinking it'd appreciate in value later....but let's just say I've never lost money selling one. I usually buy to keep. I'd only sell if I were desperate for the money or if the weapon no longer suited the purpose I had in my mind when I bought it. That being said...the more Obama talks about banning this and that, the more potential profit I could make...
