David Pakman, host of The David Pakman Show, gets his car towed for parking in a friend's apartment parking lot without a permit, and pays the $155.58 fee ...
@alexreffand The apartment complexes around here have parking areas
designated for visitors and it's spelled out very clearly in the lease
aggreement and signs reinforce the rule. I have called to have cars removed
from the carport space I pay extra for as well as the designated spot in
front of my entry door several times. A neighbor pays even more for a
garage spot and several times when arriving home, found cars parked in
front of the overhead doors of the garage building. Rules are rules.
fairly humorous to do this, but still very immature, and it seems it was
done with the sole intention of posting online and creating fodder for the
show. There's plenty of stuff to talk about in the world, no need to create
things to talk about that aren't of consequence. It sucks with the parking
rules, as I live in a building above a church and the people here who have
a car, can't even park at their own building, nor can the church employees,
without paying the meter. Still...immature.
David parked where he wasn't allowed to park. Simple. When I go into the
city (Chicago), I either park my car in a parking garage or use PT. When I
visit a friend that owns a condo tower in town, I use the guest parking
area of the garage and I have a pass sticker in the window. When I have my
hair cut, I park in the one hour zone and I'm in and out in less than 20
minutes. David embarrassed himself by belligerently 'making a point' by
paying a valid fine with coins.
Classic! Gosh I wish I could have helped produced this bit: for one that
sack would have to be emblazzend with the DP show logo in some form of
embroidered print, and even sub-titles added post production would have
been informative and simultaneously even more hilarious. What else? The
giggle-cam I can deal with, the motion in the ocean on the other hand is
what makes this a bit too much to take. Thank you for sharing
Revenge is best served cold. Institute inflexible policies, be prepared for
the maximum response. As we used to say, in functional organisations rules
are unnecessary. People know how to behave. When confronted with
dysfunctional organisations? Rules are unenforceable. Make people angry and
powerless, expect stuff like this. Bravo!
I did respect David but this stunt is both childish and pointless. It's not
the towing company's fault David parked where he wasnt allowed, why make
your point with them? Better idea would be to have the person in the
apartment get David a permit or attempt to have management change the rules.
I would have said David was a jerk for bringing a pillowcase full of coins,
but since he rolled the coins (or got rolls of coins somewhere) and it was
a "cash only" tow lot, I say "excellent." Still you shouldn't park where
you aren't permitted - getting towed is the risk you take.
David, why on earth would you do this and actually post it to YouTube?
Childish, imputent and not funny. You should have owned the mistake you
made like a mature man and dealt with it accordingly. People who want to be
taken seriously don't do "goofs" and post them to YouTube.
um.. no... they knowingly carry out the bottom end terrorism.... they are
thieves, no different to justify it "by law" or by any other means.... fuck
off... all of ya fucken idiots.... I will fight anyone who comes at me as a
wolf in sheeps clothing
Nice one! I need to remember this tactic should I need to pay my car
registration in person again. In this state they require cash only for that
as well, and have an ATM machine that charges a service fee of $7.00 for
its use.
Well if i had proof of my old ticket id show you when my ticket ran out and
when i was issued a ticket 3 minutes over, how long does it take for them
to put my info in and process it, means he stood at my car till it ran out.
Well this will teach that guy for working there. This is like yelling at
the person at Starbucks because their coffee is too expensive or the person
who tears your ticket because Christopher Nolan is criminally overrated.
I like this! If anyone tells you "We don't accept coins" you just inform
them that coins are legal tender and therefore they have to accept it! I'm
tired of all the damn rules about everything! Money is money!
What about them mother fuckers that fine you for being a minute late to
your car after you've been to get a haircut in town where parking isn't the
best. These fuckers wait at your car to issue tickets
Yeah, 'cause he's the man (that guy who had to count all the coins, that
is). It's funny that those who object most to corporate "personhood" behave
the most like organizations are an organic entity.
They probably get that all the time. Those towguys are often massive
crooks, they just had a huge bust in Britain where quite a few of them were
arrested and imprisoned for fraud and theft.
That was FUNNY! LOL! I heard that one time a guy who had to pay a fine for
something he didn't think was fair--had a personal check manufactured out
of concrete and paid that way. LOL!
@46619TAB Hey, if they're bored enough to enforce such a dumb rule, may as
well give the poor guys something to do with their time! Counting change
sounds perfect, wouldn't you agree?
@THISorTHATchannel I don't know what's funnier - that you paid in quarters,
or that the clerk even thought that $70 in quarters would have a chance in
hell fitting in the drawer.
@MidweekPolitics Park in the corect designated area from here on in. It'll
save you future embarassment & the hassle of uploading a video. Look at it
as a lesson learned.... :|
I have no idea how the parking police officers work in your town but in the
Chicago area they don't have time to wait around a car for time on the
meter to run out.
@RavenousSky it's part of homeland security taking pictures is a security
risk.. u never know when a terrorist might use those pictures to plan an
attack on the US
@RavenousSky so where were the citizen of the town when the idiots in the
city government passed this ordinance ? didn't anyone try to slap some
sense into them ?
@chica476 the phrase is "Son of Abraham," being Israeli is a nationality,
he was born in Argentina, unless you count every Jew in the world as being
Israeli.
@RavenousSky Yeah, wtf, It would make sense if your car was parked in a
handicap space, security officer space or the fire lane, but just any old
spot? WTF!?
@TonPappa hate to tell u but yes they can refuse coins.. it has been done
before and upheld in court..businesses can't be inconvenienced by taking
coins
Disappointment! The coins were rolled! David should have had loose change
in that sack and made those thieves sit there and count it out.
Angry Residents Say Cars Towed Illegally
Things are reaching the boiling point in Melbourne after residents said they're out hundreds of dollars because their cars are getting towed from a public street.
