A little vid of my latest surgery/procedure. This is the second attempt to use Fibrin glue to shut down two fistulas. I've had them for months after multiple bowel ...
I presently have 3 fistulas in a 4.5 x 5 cm healing wound area in my
abdomen. (It has been healing by help of a wound vac. It's down in size
from 15 x 15 cm.) I had an endoscopic removal of an ovary last year in
which the Dr nicked my bowel. I quickly developed sepsis after returning
home and wound up in the hospital again. After sepsis and respiratory
failure, I ended up is in bon a coma for a month and a half. I am close to
a month and a half awake now! Needless to say the last 3 months have been
Hell not only for me, but for my family and friends. My 1st hospital
raised their hands, admitted failure, and had my family decide on where to
send me next. The second hospital saved my life. The doctors told my
family that I had a 10 % chance of living when I arrived. After many
surgeries to repair and to clean out the sepsis, placement of surgical
drains and 2 Interventional Radiology drains, I came around and was
determined to fight for my life. It's so very hard. I gain strength in
many ways, but I battle getting nutrition because of complications from my
GERD. See, during my coma acid reflux had a hey day with my esophagus. I
now have ulcers and strictures that cause me to throw up and feel nauseous
most of the time. I am hoping that because the doctor considers my
fistulas to be "Low Output" that they may be treated by fibrin glue. I
see him again on the 28th of this month. Please pray to the God you belive
in for me and anyone else who is dealing with hardships.
