I have a 1976 CJ7 with the 258 engine and th400 tranny... Just sayn' Yours sounds awesome. Quick little bugger...

@jeepjeeplady ill have to get a video of the new engine, i rebuilt a 258 from a cj5 and put it in this one.

what carb did ya use for that 4.2? i put the Rochester 2bbl and it still has little power uphill or when you slam the throttle it sounds like it loses power completely

@scrambleout i almost forgot the important part....if you want it to poot-n-pop while idling.....get you 12 pack of bud, a flathead screwdriver,then go and think your a machenic and tinker with the carb..im sure that will get it to sound like mine

:) I know I would if I had the money. Some muffler shops tell me it's not possible, there isn't enough room underneath, but I think they are just being laz..... energy efficient. what has two thumbs and is jealous...... this guy (points at self)

@jdcouch2 it has 2 super 40 flowmasters with dual headers on a 258 6 cylinder,,,no y or h pipe,,just 2 single exhaust lines without the cats....2 1/2 inch pipes all the way....headers are 3 to 1 hedmans it cost about 8oo bucks ,,,,labor and all
