In the UK Freight Company DRS has ordered 10 electrodiesels off Vossloh for
use on freight workings under the wires but with the ability to go for
quite a few miles beyond. The UK electrified network is growing after
decades of stagnation as opposed to the huge retrenchment you have sadly
had in the States Conrail losing many miles of its routes in the North East
being the last big one.
True, the North American systems are aging and Bombardier can be a great
provider as it's based in the North America, so they will be able to ship
out there product at a faster rate than other providers. Also, Bombardier
trains for some reason are more smooth to ride than their competitors,
could that be caused by the fact that they make aircrafts as well?
