+Raziel is Love - Raziel is Life Exactly what happened to me haha was clean for 2 weeks then I was watching a movie, and you don't realise you're doing it until it's too late haha its so annoying!

+Ste Bradbury Design Yeah it just happens. Dont bite nails for weeks and suddenly while whatching a movie I notice that I just bit of a nail or ripped of one. I hope there will be some sort of aesthetic surgery to fix this :/

+Raziel is Love - Raziel is Life ugh, it's a horrible habit isnt it -_- and you're right, that stuff that you can put on your fingers that tastes awful doesnt really stop you haha. I have quit smoking before, and I have stopped myself from biting my nails for like 2 weeks which is pretty good for me, but then I forgot about it and started doing it again -_- I have strong will power, so at some point I will say enough is enough and I will stop doing it haha My mum used to bite her nails when she was about my age, but she doesnt anymore, she just stopped one day, so I guess that day will come for me too... Hopefully haha

+Ste Bradbury Design This "Tick" started when I was about 7 years old. I suddenly was obsessed with ripping my nails off. Yes I didn't bite them off, I ripped them off. That's why those Disgusting Tasting Nail Polish to prevent biting nails didn't help. My parent's didnt know what to do. I didn't stopped and now my nails are bout 2 cm shorter then yours. The biggest problems are my toes. The nail down there is the half of the toe itself. And the flesh of the toe could overgrow the nail so it's going to be worse. I cant proper wear flip flops cuz I am afraid someone could be disgusted. Unfortunatly there is no real help. Its some "Tick", a psychic defect. Also its not a topic many people talk about. And we and our problems are mostly alone. Find someone to talk about it and tell your friends to slap you when they see you biting your nails. Dont give up we can get out of this misery. Keep it up !

+Ste Bradbury Design yes! The black one but it was a brand new one I bought yesterday... Sounds crazy! I have koi brush pencils aswell and you are right, the color ones are perfect but the black isn't... Thanks for the tip I'll check the one you said and thanks A LOT for answering!

+hatis burg Are you using a the black tombow? If so, that pen does seem to get messed up quite quickly, I have noticed that the black ones don't last as long as others, but after a good bit of use of any brush pen, then do start to deteriorate. I can't imagine you're doing anything wrong, they're made to withstand a good bit of pressure to allow you to get a nice variation of line weights, but like I said, after a bit of use, they do start to spoil. Maybe have a look at the Lyra brush pens that are linked in this video description. They're essentially the same as the Tombows, but a fair bit cheaper and personally, I prefer the Lyra's. +Karataron Ahh, my bad man, I miss-interpreted what you said haha. To be honest, I just learnt by looking at other peoples work and replicating it, and over time, you start to understand how things work from experimenting trying to achieve the same results as some of the amazing handlettering artists that are you there :) I was very surprised at the lack of tutorials and guides when I first started practicing it too, you would think there would be more out there but I guess it's only recently started becoming a popular skill to practice :) Anyway, I hope my tutorials have helped you man, hopefully Ill have more on the way soon ;) have a great day!

No, don't get me wrong please. I never asserted that you claimed to have invented them; it's pretty obvious that you didn't. And I really appreciate both of your tutorials they are great. I was just wondering if there's maybe a PDF file out there, where everything is listed and the important things are mentioned, since you explain it that detailed, I assumed you had to learn these details first, too. So I thought you may have used such a book or so at first too. But I agree you two videos are definetly enough to practice handlettering :)

I never claimed to have invented it bro, and I don't know of any templates, and there are very few tutorials showing you the basics behind it. In all honesty, with the guides template I gave you in this video, it should be quite easy to follow, it just takes a little bit of practice. Maybe check out the part one
