Was anyone else brought here by Ken Burns' PBS documentary "The Roosevelts"? This theme ("Our Town") is heard throughout that inspiring documentary of one of America's most famous political families.

Noticed the recurring background music in "The Roosevelts" . Perfect choice. Music from "Our Town" and I are long-time friends.

Ironic one of the most American composers who dreamed and shared such gorgeous Main Street beauty, innocence and tradition would be discriminated against today by those who extol such tradition, because he was a gay man. Just goes to show us, no matter whom you are, or what color, or what religion, or how you love - all of us belong, and all of us, if allowed to share our gifts, only make the world that much more beautiful. Thank you for this music, Mr. Copland.

Our Town is one of the greatest pieces of music ever written. I always envision a bird's eye view of endless apple orchards that stretch on in every direction into the infinite.
