Do you have any idea the harm these drugs do to the body? You should teach on that, or learn about it first if necessary. Straight up poison my friend

We all have to read and understand the adverse and deadly effects these drugs have on the body…this is why people like him are important for teaching us the physiology. Knowing exactly what happens in the body from these drugs can also explain the harm they cause. Bye felicia

Is there a way to get your body to reduce it's own inflammation, another words, get it to produce that chemical from the adrenal gland or something like that... , through some type of diet or treatment that doesn't require daily use of meds like Prednisone. I know very little about all of this and I find myself in dire need of anti inflammatory meds to reduce pain so I'm learning all I can to try to reduce dependency on these types of meds...you seem alot more educated than me, and it can't hurt to ask, right?

+Lou T - I also have the same issues; repeated gout attacks and other inflammatory issues going back about 10 years. Age 53 here and have gone through Indomethachin, Naprozen, Voltaren plus every over the counter med (numerous times). -last trip to the ER I was prescribed Prednisone (a cortical steroid); this has worked like no other med but for those who are in the same situation a word of advice if I may, "DO NOT" get used to this med, it is a very powerful drug and "Not" a long term solution. See your doctor as I will be doing tomorrow.

Just a question, "increased inflammation cases decreased perfusion" ... can you explain a bit further since I thought the inflammation was caused by the vessels widening to bring in the extra blood cells to fight infection and I thought that would bring in more RBC which carry O2 which I thought would result in increased perfusion

I don't think corticosteroid can cause edema. The "edema" symptom comes from the lipid metabolism. I reckon.

I have Myasthenia Gravis and started my taper last Friday. I have been on 20mg daily since June of last year when I was diagnosed, and recently did a sudden taper to 15mg. Tomorrow I'm supposed to go down to 10mg and I'm terrified. My knees are hurting, my teeth are hurting, Ive been having migraines, been nauseated. This is terrible. I blamed throwing up Monday on running my IVIG treatment too quickly but I'm almost thinking it could also be partly due to withdrawl. Ugh :( Are you off prednisone now?
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-w5Ajg-U1p30/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAFc/ft5YiPQhY-w/photo.jpg?sz=64
+ohmami88 When in doubt I always say taper slower, talk to your doctor about it. My taper took over a year to get off of 60mg a day. And yes I am off of both Prednisone and IVIG now, going vegan has helped me a ton! :)

Wow, I'm surprised at what Youtube has, and thought I'd search for info concerning Prednisone. I've watched some of your videos, and weaning is of interest. I've used Prednisone for more than 30 years, and feel that it should've never been prescribed for the small rash I had. The info that now is public, wasn't available then, so I'm screwed. But, maybe there's some hope still, so your technique for weaning maybe what I need. I've been on 5mgrs for nearly a year, and about two months ago, I started weaning myself off it. I have a trach, and mucus is a real issue, so I was prescribe 10mgrs. After about a couple weeks, I reduced it to 5mgrs, and it was noticeable, but I knew I didn't want to stay at 10mgrs. I started reducing to 4mgrs for a 2 weeks, than 3 for 2 weeks, until none. The mucus is again a real problem, and its hard to swallow food, and I was going to try and stick it out. I'd mentioned my wanting to wean myself off to my doctor, but he really didn't explain ho weaning should be done. I'm going to try your technique, so thanks. Its scary how my more than probable rash was due to allergies, and a doctor, rather than spend some effort trying to find out my issue, started me on Prednisone. This drug has ruined my life. What really caused me to watch your videos was how you lost weight. Initially, I was really athletic and muscular, and Prednisone only added to my look, so like an idiot, I took more than told. After realizing my temper was out of sync, I researched Prednisone, and was scared at what I found. I went cold turkey, and it nearly closed my airway, and ever since, I've had issues with my airway. I now have a trach, numerous food allergies, and I've lost many teeth. Like you, I've refined my diet, and its helped. I'm down to 130 lbs, and barely recognize me.

+sam g Wow I'm sorry to hear all of that Sam, that really sucks, I'm glad I took Prednisone when I did; when it was easy to get information about it. I wish you the best of luck and hope your taper goes well! Hopefully your dietary changes can help reverse at least some of the damage, veganism has helped me out a ton!

I am tired of being on Prednisone. My moon face drives me nuts. I have to admit though its not that bad compared to what I have seen. I guess I have been lucky. I went from when I was on 30 mg I decided to go down to 20 mg and I did half weeks at each dose. So halfway through the week I went down to 15mg, then 10mg. I am now on 5 mg and I am going to try skipping a day, see what happens.

Improves the inflammation. I had the injection. It made it way worse. Herniated discs. Crumbling spine from overuse of steroids. With sarcoidosis, it took 1&1/2 years to get diagnosed, so I was on 120 mg prednisone for almost two years, plus methotrexate, plaquenel, azothiaprine. I'm still on steroids 7 years later. I up the steroids above the magic '10' mg when I get inflamed. Usually my eye goes blind first before my back pain gets into swing. I did have discectomy n could walk immediately upon waking. Steroids are a dirty dirty life saving drug.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-ecmw5znH3lc/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAATh0/7nRgLJcezD4/photo.jpg?sz=64
I can relate to your pain and feeling forced to take Prednisone. I also have an auto-immune disease and am put on it quite often. I call it the drug that saves your life while it kills you at the same time. If I go over 40 mgs, I get nightmares really bad, but at 15 mg I'm feeling the benefits and still losing weight. It's confusing to me. At any rate, I hope you get better soon.

The doctors are failing to inform Prednesone will shut down your vital to life adrenal glands by what is known as HPA axis suppression. Call (416) 230-3727 for more information about undisclosed harmful adrenal effects.

Hi Brian, Adrenal crisis is caused by suddenly discontinuing but HPA axis suppression (adrenal gland shutdown) starts while on the drug. I will bet you any money I am correct and you are wrong. Please call me on 1-416-230-3727  so I can lead you to the correct information..You are wrong but it's not your fault as the medical industry is concealing the adrenal effects while you are on the drug. If you have been mislead by a doctor you can join my class-action lawsuit. You are in danger when stopping the drug because your adrenal glands have already been shut down while on the drug.
