That statement "In God We Trust" was NOT originally on our currency, but
was added by religious zealots. We need to REMOVE IT from our currency, and
respect the separation between Church and State. Religion has NO PLACE in
the laws of a land, and if you want to live in a country run by religion,
move to Iran.
wat has come of our country... it says on each piece of currency in god we
trust but now we dnt trust in god...

Marriage for All Families: Stories from Washington
The third of our four-part series made in each of the states that have marriage equality votes this November, this short shares the experiences of same-sex ...
I want all four of our states to vote in favor of marriage equality. I want
it to start a chain reaction. The more states that grant marriage equality,
the more states that WILL grant marriage equality. I bet we will see
Tennessee voting on this issue before too long. If we're REALLY lucky,
Tennessee won't ever have to vote on the issue, our federal government will
enact equality for all of us. DOWN WITH DOMA!!! Because of DOMA, I can't
even live with my fiance that is from Australia... :-( Sad
I am proud of these people for standing out while you sit in the closet and
debate your life. A candle wick has sparks in all of us and you don't know
weather to take it and explore or blow it out and follow someone elses
mindlessly following a cult of lights or a light so keep warm and see
something, they and myself chose to take a light and lead, instead of blow
ours out and follow. I am an ally, i have 2 mothers and a gay older
brother, and i am not and will not be as closed minded as you.
It is ignorant to also assume disagreement in general is not hate. Most
motives are not easily apparent, I think unless motives can be clearly
defined by action it is unnecessary to even regard them. That a person
disagrees and will vote to enforce their perspective upon the rest of us is
enough. I hope motive will be seen as a superfluous topic; ultimately
freedom to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" should be the
focus, especially when regarding such a benign action - marriage.
Disagreement and hate are not always synonymous. It is equally true that
those who claim non-heterosexuality is a "lifestyle" (ie. a choice) and
"unnatural" are severely deluded. These people have an irritating tendency
to accept, wholesale, unsubstantiated religious assertions while rejecting
rigorous scientific findings. They believe the dictates of an imagined
deity, but deny the harm caused to real people by such beliefs. I find that
my patience and respectability wane in their presence.
I mildly disagree in that to call it hate is simply inaccurate. It may be
hate OR disagreement I've observed people avoid admitting they're judging
others based on whom someone loves, so a rational stance that
anti-homosexuals feel safe in taking is parenting. The majority of my
family and friends' families are anti-homosexual and religious, ask them
why they feel that way and their answer is most commonly inferior parenting
and/or scriptural.
Can we make a new law requiring all children from now on to be raised by
lesbians? Sure straight people have managed to churn out a few good ones,
but you guys also really know how to fuck up a kid. Every person I've seen
with lesbian parents is really happy, successful, and well adjusted, and I
have yet to see a single homophobic bigot.
I don't know if any of those families believe in God, but this is not to
offend anyone, but God bless you guys. Seriously, God bless you. As a
Christian I can say that I will pray for your families, your marriages, and
equality that you guys need, deserve, and require. Just like any other
American. Just like any other human.
A beautiful video that drives home how utterly pathetic people are when
they fight to "protect" "traditional marriage". They're battling ghosts and
fake enemies of their own creation, dumping millions of dollars and human
lifetimes of energy into a cause that has no use.
I wish you had gotten some perspective from the East side of the mountains.
A lot of time people forget that 60% of this state is on the other side of
the mountains and that their is more than seattle, and we aren't all
rednecks!
I'm fine with people who disagree. We're all entitled to our beliefs. I'm
just not a fan of the argument that being homosexual makes you an unfit
parent solely based on your sexual orientation.
Rather than calling names perhaps this states your point: "Those who deny
freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln, letter
to H.L. Pierce, Apr. 6, 1859
I LOVE that Google is standing up for this important issue! It is legal
everywhere where I live (Canada) and I can't wait until all our southern
friends get the same rights.
0:25-0:31 is pictures of North Bend and Snoqualmie, that's where I live
(North Bend) and Went to School (Snoqualmie) YAY MARRIAGE EQUALITY and
PLEASE vote to pass Ref 74!!
The funny thing is, a number of the gay people I know would probably vote
Republican if the GOP could pull their head out of their ass and drop the
homophobic bullshit.
If I lived in one of these states I would be FOR equality! Unfortunately,
here in TN, it will likely never be on a ballot in my lifetime. *Biblebelt
facepalm*
I'm voting this election for R74 because it is the right thing to do. These
people deserve the same civil liberties as every other American. It's that
simple.
It looks like Referendum 74 is being approved by Washington voters. Thank
you fellow citizens for allowing me and so many others to marry. Equality
has won in Maine and Maryland while Minnesota has fought back a
constitutional ban and Iowa judge Wiggins has be re-elected to the bench
even though he supported Iowa's same-sex marriage law. Overall - awesome! I
look forward to more loving committed couples being able to celebrate their
lives together with language that treats everyone the same.
Hey Scott, just recently found your page and think it was and is a great
idea. Its nice to see a NORMAL face put on the whole coming out experience.
I also think that just as a normal person you have a lot to say and think
what you have said covers a lot of what is on peoples minds. Thanks for
sharing yourself and your experience with the world. I do hope to hear an
update someday.
Sorry I don't know Russian and I know you're not a Washington voter but
just to clarify...No one I'm volunteering with on the Approve Referendum 74
campaign, nor any of my friends or relatives have ever talked about wanting
to marry their pets. Good luck with that campaign!
Fist of all I am not Russian although I am fascinated by them, and I am
sorry if you can't read English, ...take some college. Don't pretend you
know what you're talking about, you do not look very smart, don't just
blab-do some research first.
What is next? Approving sex with children? That what gays are going for.

Seattle Men's Chorus & Seattle Women's Chorus Celebrate Marriage Equality in Washington State
December 9, 2012 was the first day same-sex couples could legally wed in the state of Washington. During the holiday concert on December 9 for Seattle Men's ...
This brought tears of joy to my eyes to see fellow lesbian and gay family
being wed in front of the Seattle Men's and Women's choruses in Benaroya
Hall. It's about time! Those of us in less progressive states will have to
wait a while longer for such an event; but just witnessing this gives our
hearts a measure of celebration as we recognize that we are finally being
legally seen as people who deserve to live our lives with whom we choose to
love and share the same rights as hetero couples.
You are just going to have to deal with your anger and frustration because
gay people are getting married whether u like it or not. Gay marriage might
be legal nationwide by next year through the supreme court. What are u
going to do with your life then? Homophobes have had their time in the sun,
NOW its time for gay people to get the equality they deserve. The arc of
the moral universe is long but it always bends towards justice.
My partner Scott and I were in attendance that night (in fact, you can
actually see us in one of the balconies in crowd pan shot). I'd never seen
him cry before and I never do at weddings, but this one really hit me/us.
Such a poignant and beautiful moment and one of the most inspirational
things I have seen in my 35 years alive. Way to pave the way Washington!
Never stop the pursuit of equal rights!!
Its so wonderful to see such happiness. I attended the SMC Christmas show
the weekend before this ceremony and wish I had been able to be there again
that day. I am a proud Washington State resident who was happy to have the
opportunity to vote for Ref 74! As a straight person living my life the way
I want to live it, I am so happy to have had a part in allowing others to
have that same right!
Straight people sodomize each other all the time with oral sex, vaginal sex
using contraceptives or while infertile and anal sex. U are confused. I
support gay people fully. Your time and the remaining homophobes' time has
come to an end. Gay marriage WILL be legal in the entire U.S. and there is
nothing u can do about it except foam in the mouth and pout. How pathetic
and embarassing!
So beautiful! I'm crying and cheering! Congratulations to the couples.
Thank you to the state of Washington and to the Choruses for making this
possible. How could anyone believe that this is wrong and want to deny
these wonderful people the right to be married? I wish that I could hug all
of you!
As someone who was there (with Dale, my own partner of 32 years), I don't
think there were many dry eyes in the packed audience. Especially perfect
was the singing of Bernstein's hymn from 'West Side Story' just after the
couples were married. We are all blessed to have this video.
I've known Neil and Donn nearly forever. I had no idea when I started to
watch this video that they would be one of the couples. What an amazing
thing to witness! What an amazing day!
Proof that with enough voices singing, you can't tell that half of us are
sobbing between notes (and the other half are grinning so big their faces
are ready to split)!
I was in the audience for this. As wonderful as this video is, it doesn't
capture the tidal wave of love and enthusiasm from everyone in the house.
Mazeltov to all!
