The rear window latch wouldn't clear, so I had to do some investigation into the problem. While I was in there, I tightend up the headliner. Boiling water was the ...
Very cool just one more reason I like everryone in the garage it does not
mater what your doing 9 times out of 10 someone else will know how to help
you get to were your going with less head achecs. Great advice from my
Darrin. Have a great week.
That was my Thomy Shuu flavor... Snack-a-rama, crack-a-rama... You get it.
I'm not worried about it. I need to repaint a handful of spots at some
point. Right now, I'm in assembly mode. Will address my stupidity later in
life.
They had the plastic from 58 to 69. They last 4 years they had the glass. A
lot of guys go with the plastic on the restorations of late models to save
the headache... Plus the glass is expensive to replace if it breaks.
Greg, noce! I was sad to hear you cracked the bodywork but as you said, the
top wasn't going to fit without clearnacing that hole - so a mans gotta to
what a mans gotta do!
thats a good trick with the hot water---gottta love it when a plan falls
together. ive been making some pretty good progress with my chevelle as
well--take care cuz
I think you are right Milo. I will give it plenty of time to
s-t-r-e-t-c-h!!! Apparently the gov't has started allowing non-factory
materials to be used on tops, so you should be clear to have a canvas top
installed on your little buggie!!!
wow I know you must be getting excited now it's getting closer and closer
.pretty soon you'll be taking that car out for its first debut car show I'm
looking forward to that video .....Fins up..... your friend from Florida
Eric .
Congratulations on the top it looks good from what we could see on this
video. Is your tree really still up in the living room? That reminds me of
my childhood when we begged our Mother to let us keep it up....
You gotta give it up to them for taking the old top back since they didn't
use the correct pattern. I get that everyone makes a mistake but it's the
good shops that make them right in the end!!
There is a headliner, then a layer of 1-1/2" foam. I suspect you could call
that insulation. I don't know the R value of upholstery foam. It's better
than a typical "rag top" for sure.
We were taking the tree down when the post lady rang the doorbell. I'd
prefer to just shove the thing in the closet and drag it out at
thanksgiving next year. The top looks incredible.
HAHA!! The tree was getting packed up when we made the vid. It went up
late, so we left it a bit longer than usual. Good to hear TMI does good
work. The top is excellent.
Phew thats a relief, going to look really nice, looking forward to the
fitting vid, going to put a convertible top on Vincent the Vitesse, so that
vid will help a lot!!
I don't either. Every building I design is a custom job from top to bottom.
