Loc Hairstyle Tutorial: Narnia inspired hair how-to
This hairstyle is a subscriber request! Viewer Barbra asked me to recreate the White Witch's hairstyle from the Chronicles of Narnia for her upcoming wedding.
@anonymous10001000 I know you didn't ask me but I wanted to weigh in
anyways... I am 29 and I started mine at 26 cuz i felt the same way. Now I
so wish that I could go back and get them when I was younger. It takes many
years to get long beautiful locks, so starting younger is better. You can
cut them into styles, I had a very short do for a while (halle berry styled
- kinda) or you can grow them down your back. You can dye them every single
color in the book and not worry...
@anonymous10001000 but the best part which is awesome in college is being
able to wash and go without a worry and look good. workout without a care,
walk in the rain without stressing, or even just not retighten your hair
today cuz you don't feel like it and look fine. Plus there is no freedom
like NOT having to go to a salon and waste an entire day! Guys love running
their hands in your hair... it's just a free-er lifestyle. I hope you
consider dreads, and if you do
@Kieshaleigh if your hair is backcombed (which is how caucasian locs are
usually formed) washing your hair won't loosen the knots. some people
incorrectly choose to not wash their hair, thinking it will help the locing
process, but from my understanding, you can wash caucasian locs the same
way you wash locs on african american hair. unfortunately a few people have
perpetuated the stereotype that locs on white people are dirty and smelly.
not completely true.
@anonymous10001000 this question is impossible to answer because there's no
way to survey everyone with locs and find out when/if they cut them. some
people keep their locs for 2-3 years and decide they aren't for them. some
people have locs for 10 years and trim them over time in order to deal with
the length. some people cut off their locs and decide to get them again.
there is no popular approach because every single person's experience is
different.
@anonymous10001000 well considering i've had locs for 7 years and have been
making hairstyle tutorial videos for 5 years, i haven't found that locs
have become boring. but everyone is different. what interests me doesn't
interest everyone and the styles that i enjoy aren't ones that everyone
likes or enjoys. so there's no way for me to tell you if you'll get bored
with locs or not. you're the only person that can answer that for yourself
@anonymous10001000 .... I don't think you will ever want to take them out.
But as a WONDERFUL aside. My sister has thick dreads down her back and I am
proud to say I am in the process of taking them down and reinstalling a new
set. I have another friend who took hers out and just pressed hers. I never
saw a thicker head of long straight hair. It takes a long time, but you
don't have to shave dreds to remove them so they aren't permanent.
@kasiakaczanowska1 touché. personally i like using automatopia when i type
because that's how i talk. i wasn't offended by @Chacha5678's comment.
he/she is entitled to their own opinion. the same way i'm entitled to get
annoyed by the misuse of your and you're. not saying i'm perfect, it's just
a personal pet peeve. therefore my comment was my most honest reply. thanks
for sharing your opinion as well!!
DIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA..... and the GRAMMY FOR LOCS GOES TO
(Everybody stand up on ya' feet and show your luv forrrrrrrrrr) Chescalocs!
Sista, ok now... you've done it -----------------> A G A I N ... Just
Fly... fly fly fly fly.., did I say FLY! LOL... Thanks again for another
smoking HAUTE tutorial... You are appreciated!!!
@stealthknifekiller ouch! looks like someone is jealous! sorry your
video...oh wait. you don't have any videos. just like every other racist
hater on youtube. it's easy to spread hatred and ignorant garbage on the
internet and not be man enough to show your face and open yourself up to
criticism. best of luck to you.
@TheSupasweet it's actually a necklace! it's bendable so you can twist it
into a variety of styles. i just recently started wearing it my hair just
to change things up. if you go on my facebook fan page, a few weeks ago i
posted a link to where you can purchase the necklace online. there's also a
link on my blog :)
@LovelyJor there's no harm in trying! and you can always adapt this look to
fit your length. maybe instead of a side ponytail, just leave your hair
loose in the back? have you seen my nautilus hairstyle videos? there are 2
versions and version 2 works really well on medium length hair.
Chesca, that do is amazing! I love your tutorials and I really love this
one. Can't wait to try it. (and I have an amazing hairstylist who always
exceeds my expectations) I may have to leave some time between appointments
so that I can experiment with some of your styles. :-) Amazing!
I would think when someone makes your skin crawl, you're entitled to your
honest reply. But to continue to butcher the English language by not
beginning sentences with capital letters and using a word you completely
made up (argh?) is totally off base.
i purchased online. you can find on amazon or at your local beauty supply.
do a google search, there are plenty of online retailers that carry it.
also, the videos where i've mentioned JBCO all contain purchase links in
the video description box
hey chesca, i have Q do locs ever get boring?? i know i want them later
when im in my 20s (im a high school freshman right now) and i also want
them now, but im afraid im going to get tired of them before i reach that
period of my life........
@kasiakaczanowska1 i think her title is pretty interchangeable. i've seen
her credited as both online, but i haven't seen the movie and it's been
ages since i read the books. kudos to you for catching the error, no one
else did.
@3Lilylove if you watch my pipcleaner results video that's basically a bob.
i just did pipcleaner curls and then separated them. but my hair is too
long for that now, but you could probably get that result by pinning. try
it!
So I've been seeing this braided bun and found a tutorial for the lace
braided bun (done by Cute Girl Hairstyles). Could you please do a tutorial
for that, my daughter has an obsession for this particular bun. thanks!!!
@kasiakaczanowska1 I love meeting fellow Grammar Nazi's. My punctuation at
times leaves alot to be desired ... but hey! At least it is better than
"tYpIn lYk DiHs 2 gEt AteNtIoN" it hurts my head. lol
Your vids and over all personality are great! I'll be considering this
style for my wedding next year. Thanks for all of your wisdom and insight;
please don't ever let the haters stop your gift. :)
@archuletarox321 It's a necklace, not a pin! So cool, right? It's from a
cheap jewelry store in the city.if you google "bendable metal necklace" you
can find it online at a bunch of retailers
