the US taxes its citizens more than France! Roughly 40% of our income goes to the government (to pay for the interest on the money we print) and that 40% can be divided up into sales, income, and various other hidden taxes like vehicle registration and gasoline taxes. I dont know much about the tax breakdown but I imagine a tax deductible would come from one of the various areas that we do not notice. correct me if i am wrong because i noticed the incongruity with paul's statement as well.

Stimulants, on the other hand, such as coca (coke/cocaine) and certain amphetamines, are dangerous no matter what, due to the potential effects. Anything that can enhance emotions (such as anger), diminish control and common sense, and increase physical ability and pain tolerance - that's like giving someone a fully automatic rifle without a safety, or explosives. Things can be used wisely, and they can get out of hand. The "war on drugs" needs to be rethought, and completely domesticated.

You do realize that most of the corporatism problems we have now is a result of big government right? Why do you think corporations spend billions of dollars every year lobbying congress? Because its profitable. They get legislation passed that helps them. If the government wasn't as big, there would be less incentive for this, and corporations would have to try and survive in free markets. Which most probably wouldn't be able to do.

It is not a wasted vote, even if the good Doctor (this ad is pure political genius!) does not win, the larger his voting block the more power we as a people will have when it comes time to "lend" our support to someone the mainstream likes...and if that person wins and then turns on us, we give them hell in congress and in political life....don't give up, don't give in...that's what the mainstream status-quo wants!!

The "war on drugs" is the real problem. Drug addicts, like alcoholics, are SICK, and dealing with them primarily through the penal system is absolutely ridiculous. Further, there are some "drugs" which are simply non-issues, like cannabis, which has far fewer detriments associated with it than alcohol. Why are Americans letting their government prosecute and harass their fellow citizens over such nonsense?

What you have nothing intelligent to say? By stopping the Empire we save 1Till. dollars a year. By stopping foriegn aide we save another 500 bill. Get out of the un and "peace keepers" another 300 bill. saved. RP would use that saved money to ensure that Americans that have become dependent on gov. programs will continue to receive that support. while at the same time weaning people off of the gov. dole.

Hi, yes I agree with all that, but I don't get how you can campaign saying you will do away with the income tax and also say that this issue or that will get a tax credit, if there is to be no taxes then what use is a tax credit? I just find this to be inconsistent. I know you can't change things overnight but usually Dr. Paul is very logical in his stances and I can't find the logic in this.

That is a very fair question - good to see you are paying attention! There will always be taxes. Either corporate, business, state or otherwise. I doubt Ron Paul would get involved in state taxes, but there are plenty of other federal taxes that people could deduct helth expenses from (Social Security, for one BIG one). Still, I wish his campaign staff would clear this up for us all. :)

Can anyone now seriously deny that a vote for Ron Paul in the primaries is wasted? Since MY sister was raped and murdered by someone released from Oklahoma's prison system here in Texas, I would have a very hard time voting for someone that released a convicted rapist who then raped and murdered two women in Missouri. And he calls himself a Christian? I would not vote for Huckabee under any circumstances.

As a doctor, he stands for the rights of the children in the belly. He wouldn't give us the freedom to kill newborns or other children either. Lincoln ended the freedom of whites to own slaves, simultaneously freeing blacks. Democrats argued back then that blacks are not people. Just like today with babies.

PLEASE get the word out that: 1) Fox is attempting to stop the Ron Paul movement by EXCLUDING him from the New Hampshire debate on Jan 6th. 2) We must get the contributions for the quarter over $19 MILLION and hopeful close to $20 million by Dec 31st (I'll be donating on that date's mini-bomb).

abkian (1 day ago) You will still have to PAY State Income Tax (in states that have it - I believe that there are only 5 that don't) Also ALL STATES have Property tax on your home. That's were you would get to write it off. I like to see that people are are always asking questions.... :)

Well GrammarChick if Ron Paul Got rid of the IRS then the state (state where you live and pay state taxes) could have a form for you to fill out and they could send you a check. Or even your doctor could have a form with a record of all you medical expenses and you could send it in.

Yes I agree with that too, but I still don't see the logic behind campaigning for eliminating taxes but proposing solutions for other problems with tax cuts. It doesn't make sense. But I still am behind Dr Paul 100%, there is no-one else out there who could be better.

Depends on the drug and its market value. If you legalize a drug, like marijuana, the number of growers increases dramatically (as well as related industry) and thereby diminishes its potential for overstock and thus crime. No one's going to get shot over a dimebag.

This is the one thing I don't quite get with the campaign. Health care will be tax deductable, but I thought one of the mainstays of his campaign was to do away with income tax... So healthcare being tax deductable if there is no tax doesn't make a lot of sense.

I heard someone say we should have a 1 day event where every freeway overpass has a Ron Paul supporter on it at the same time across the country ,that way we would get publicity and more participation in meetups,I think it sounds like a good idea. [Repost]
