At 34:35 the fact about shifting his body weight on the pegs is not exactly
correct. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PbmXxwKbmA Counter steer is input
on the handle bars where you turn opposite where you want to go and the
bikes follows through... turn left to go right. Push down and forward away
from where you want to go and the bike veers off in the desired direction
because of weight transfer to the outside of its axis relative to the
triple tree. (opposite where the bars are turned.)
+sakaralakabar lol either you are trolling or you are just ignorant... there is a link in the comment to a video which is proof that weight barely does anything if you don't countersteer on the handle bars. However shifting body weight to one side can turn the bars which induces countersteer. BTW you don't have to go to the TT to learn and understand the basics of riding or read about the dynamics of mass in motion.
Just to put in more perspective the 159mph for the car is enough to put it
into the 8's in the 1/4 mile if it was able to launch harder and stick.
Same with the Bike. The bike is seriously fast a well at 157 trap speed. IF
you have no idea what it means to be in something like that then you just
cant understand the rate of acceleration. My car will trap 137 and it feels
seriously fast once it gets into 4th. THe car is is 22mph faster which is
just crazy. If you ever get the chance to get a ride in a car that can go
from 0-159 in less than 9 seconds I promise you it will be scary.
Oh and these two should be the new host of Top Gear no the Ginger and Joey.
The Dragstrip and yes my car is good for a street car. Went to Bakersfield Famosa raceway. It was a good day with a DA of only 80ft which helped a lot. If i run at California speedway which is much higher elevation I will barely crack 133mph. It is just a heads and cam ZO6. IT is light so it doesn't have to make a million horsepower to be fast. If you compare it to todays supercars like the Mclaren 650s, 675 or 488 GTB it is barely keeping up with them or still not beating them but they cost 3 times more and are turbocharged exotic V8's and not very heavy either.
+Jason Dover Okay, so it sounds like that would be the case, right? Not true in certain scenarios. The reason you want to use full wets or semi wets for something like a quick burst of racing is because slick tires actually have less grip when cold. Think about how long they take to warm up in a race. About a full lap (depending). Whereas the full wets will warm up very, very quickly in the dry.
You can't put a F1 car with race slick tyres compete with a street bike
with street tyres with an average pilot. There should have been Valentino
Rossi or Marc Marquez with their MotoGP prototype bike with slick tyres.
Mr Moron, read again what I wrote, maybe you didn't understand. I watch MotoGP and Wsbk for 10 years and I never heard of Guy Martin. I repeat, I am not saying he is not good, but Rossi or Lorenzo on a motogp bike with slick tyres would have been a more fair comparison. I just read that Guy does other kid of races...Isle of Mann, that proves my point
+V. B. Lol what a moron, making comments about Guy like that without knowledge who he is. Coulthard was an AVERAGE f1 driver who was always signed by good teams. That I know for sure. He was average because despite being in good teams, driving good cars, he sucked. Even caused shumi a championship.
+Inna7e David Coulhard is a very well known pilot. I never heard of Guy and I watch Morogp and Wsbk for 10 years. I am not saying he is not good, but Rossi or Lorenzo for instance, on a real Motogp bike would have been a much fair race.
+Mike Middlename Why? the F1 record is 1 m 33.401s done by Mark Weber in 2011, motogp record 2m 0.234 done by Marc Marquez. So a 30 seconds differerence. A motogp bike should do 3 laps in AT LEAST 6 minutes a F1 car 6 minutes and 2 seconds, this is not a motogp bike much less electronic and power so 13 seconds behind the car is not bad...
+Mike Middlename Keep in mind this BMW is not 100% world superbike spec, but what's more important is that Guy is not a very good circuit racing rider, and the lap time he did on that day with that bike was no where near the world superbike lap time. DC is also in a pension now, but his time is much less slower vs F1 pole than Guys vs WSB pole. Clearly. If that was M. Marquez on his MotoGP bike, 3vs4 lap comparison would be won by MotoGP
+Mike Middlename Laptimes i could find on Wiki:Moto Gp 2015 pole: 2m 00.234World Superbikes 2013 pole : 2m 04.730 Normally both are dry and full track laptimes
Ken Fox, Guy Martin's trainer for his Wall of Death record attempt, shows us how it's done Don't miss Guy Martin Wall of Death LIVE, Channel 4, 7.15pm on Mon ...
i like guy martin and wish their were more like him. but it seems that it a
matter of getting the best minds in the business building the best most
expensive equipment then letting him get on it and saying hes beat the
record. seems like money beat the record and not him
+The Truth Watch a number of his interviews. He certainly shows all the signs of the Manic side of being BiPolar, including:Symptoms of a manic episode may include:Feelings of euphoria, abnormal excitement, or elevated moodTalking very rapidly or excessivelyNeeding less sleep than normal, yet still having plenty of energyFeeling agitated, irritable, hyper, or easily distractedEngaging in risky behaviorIt's harder to tell about the depressive side, since he wouldn't be doing any interviews when depressed.
+- RunningWithScissors - What are you talking about? I'm not sure if you were joking but if you weren't link your source. Martin isn't Bi Polar and I've never seen this in print before in my life. Link your source.
+SASraceCAM He was - spoke to him the other day, and he and Ken wanted to try it, but everyone else was like "no you don't". Shame really... Still a great achievement though!
+Toka Reva I thought he was off his rocker years ago haha
