I have been waiting for this. Have been totally loving your hair recently
and know I can benefit from this process. Glad someone is holding it down
for us fine haired, coily ladies!
@virgivane my length is about the same as yours...i do rod/straw sets (blue
rods) and split them to look fuller then pull the sides back kinda like a
frohawk....i do roll, tuck and pin my hair...today i did a bantu knot out
which was still kinda wet this morning so its like a curly fro...i just put
a goodie head band and head to work :)...i never tried a chunky twist out
im going to try that 2nite...usually i do small twist then pin them up...so
i will try this.thxz
I like the ending result. Although ur hair looks a little thin, it's not
that thin. Alo ur hair isnt brittle, its healthy looking. Ive seen hair
more thinner than urs. Im sure it would look more fuller if u start off by
cutting all ur hair to the same length & let it grow back out evenly, this
will give it a fuller look. Also u sld b glad u dont have thin hair in the
center of ur head, this is the most irritating part of the natural hair
process.
you are too cute lol! You remind me of me in the morning! I had the same
hair type. I learned that if I twist my hair wet and use large twists and
finger detangle my hair looks so much better. Large twists give the
illusion of thicker looking hair. A braidout looks much better on my fine
hair as,well I still think your hair is cute tho grew definition. Try the
Cantu shea butter curling cream it worked better for me.
I have 4 B hair that is EXTREMELY thick and have done this about 6 times
with different oils, conditioners and levels of wetness and still it looks
just as crazy. Maybe I will wait until it is longer but for now I have tiny
two-strand twists I'm wearing as a style itself - they are no thicker than
a phone charger cable. My length shows, they hang nice for being 5 inches
long and they wiggle like earrings. Try that.
In reference to Shea Moisture, it can weigh your hair down a lot. I found
that if I barely swipe my finger in it (to where the butter melts) and then
apply it, I don't have as much of a problem. It will moisturize but not set
definition at all, so I don't use it that often. Its a never endng 'trial
and error' to find an effective product for soft, fine hair.
I used to do rod sets with the blue ones while transitioning, i should try
now. I don't think i'll ever have the patience to do a straw set. Yeah try
the chunky twists, i hope they come out great! That's one of the things i
love the most about being natural, the surprise factor... you never know
what your hair is gonna look like in the morning... Thanks you.
Girrrrl...I know the struggle, trust me. :( I have low-density
fine-textured hair too and it gets so discouraging sometimes...especially
when it seems to take FOREVER to grow. Retaining length is a mother, and
"natural styles" and "twistouts" never quite look right on my hair because
it's so fine. :-/ *sigh*
i have the same type of hair. suggestions: 1) Use a lighter product CES is
too heavy, try Kinky Curly Knot Today, 2) make fewer twists 3) try 7-8 flat
twists instead, 4) humidity will help swell the hair, so try it on a more
humid day. Also, you dont have to keep them in for 2 days, they will set
quicker.
I've tried to do 3 twist outs and they always come out EXACTLY the same as
yours and I thought the same thing!!! "That doesn't look right!!..." Think
twist out might not be a good option for our hair type, it's too fine. I'm
gonna try a roller and see how it comes out. I'll let u know how it goes :)
Thank you! My hair is fine....soft & course....it will coil to the end in
the back but the sides and top my ends are as straight as can
be...regardless of the product. Thank you for sharing the same way I feel &
the same thing my hair is doing....it IS kind of weird :)
I agree with Nalia, I feel your pain tho, there are those open spaces. I
have fine hair too. I think we are more critical ourselves then we need to
be. Our hair wont look like a BlackOnyx hair. You should just rock it and
see how many compliments you get.
I too have thin natural hair. Try twisting only 1/3 of your hair. Finger
coil or roll the other 2/3's on a small cold wave roller. Let it air dry.
Moisturize with Shea butter. Use a pic at the roots because it gives a
poofy fullness.
It looks way better than mine. After twisting and twisting, my hair doesn't
do anything, not even puff. They come out more like poof, lol.
EyE can't use the shea moisture line at all, it breaks my hair off.
GRRRrrrrrr
Your hair looks beautiful. I have same type of hair. The first day is
usually the weird day lol. But once your hair stretches out a lot more you
start to like it after a few days. I love it. I just did mine yesterday.
It looks really good. My hair is fine in density and the strands are fine.
I'm also thinning in the back. (I'm going to see a dermatologist). Your
hair looks full to me. I like the movement and definition it has.
That is the way my hair looks(after a twist out), as well. I have fine
hair, and my braid/twist outs always turns out wrong. I hope when I get
some length that will change.... but I am not counting on it.
Hmmm...my twistouts look just like yours! I like yours. Over time, does it
get fuller? That's usually what happens to mine (especially with humidity).

How to Get Fuller Twistout on Thin or Fine Natural Hair | VEDA 2015 Day 24
READ ME FIRST: Believe it or not, I actually have fine low- density hair. It also exhibited characteristics of thinning hair, until I have used Black Tea and other ...
I have mixed density hair due to wearing locs for many years. So this vid
will be helpful when I eventually start twisting out. Now I leave my twists
in until I wash. Thanks for the vid!
Your hair is fine but it is not thin. Your hair is about medium density.
It makes a huge difference when doing a twist out. Fine and thin is when
there is a problem.
I think your individual strand diameter is fine, but you have medium to
high density for sure. Density is the number of hair follicles per square
inch of scalp. Those of us with low density hair do not have the really
nice thick twists like you do. For example that one twist in the front on
me is like 1/3 your size! LOL! I have 4c hair though with very fine
strands, so the method you demonstrated is one I use as well. I have been
using glycerine products to get a fuller look too.Your hair is beautiful,
and I like your videos!

How often do you recommend trimming? I got one about 2 months ago and want
to know when the next one is needed? The stylist at great clips suggested
every 6 months... does this sound correct?
+MyThriftedCloset Holla! Have you heard about - Kasteshas Amazing Hair Growth (just google it)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my BF got great results with it.
I totally get it. I wasn't suggesting you stop caring for your hair. I hope I didn't offend you.what I meant was that since you trimmed your hair only 2weeks ago it would have been better to wait 2 more weeks before the trim for the hairfinity update to be accurate and easier to understand for your subscribers who were waiting on the update.honestly when I saw the hair trimming video I wasn't expecting a hairfinity update two weeks later .Lol. I thought you were going to probably do one a month from the trim. I am not trying to be negative here I am just sharing my thoughts which I am hoping is ok. It was all from a place of love like you would for a friend.
I had to do what I had to do. I wrote out measurements in a slide to allow for clarification. But I'm not going to take care of my hair just because I'm taking hair vitamins. That would be counterproductive and could further impact my results negatively b
