There is a flaw in some of the arguments in this video. When you used the argument about the killing of the disabled baby, you say you cannot find any rational arguments and the only argument you can find is a religious one; would't that be essentially implying is that religion is irrational? You also say that good sometimes has no rationality to it. There is a one rational reason for all good and that is creating a better society and civilization to live in. Imagine if everyone used this reasoning then there would be no jerks.

In fact, feminism is often considered a 'religion' not because it is, but because the dynamics of it so closely resemble how Americans portray Christianity. 2) The video is right that conservatives are fundamentally opposed to transforming America. That is literally the definition of conservative. But is that necessarily good or bad? Depends. If something is bad, transforming it is good. If something is good, transforming it can be bad. Stating that conservatism is ALWAYS the right answer assumes that one already has a good environment. And this is not only arrogant, it is ignorant. There is ALWAYS something that can be done to improve. Maybe not something transformative, but society is never perfect and to assume perfection (or close to it) has been achieved is exactly the reason America has descended in every positive metric compared to other nations.

If you're 'weighing up the options' to decide something then your 'choice' is by definition determined by causes. There is no ghost in the machine. What we experience as conscious thought is just the processing of inputs to produce an output - even if those inputs are coming from the brain itself they have some initial root in the external world. Memories and opinions are forged by our experiences and biology.

The premise that "if you are just a brain, you can't have free will," is flawed. We cannot say that with certainty or even confidence right now, as scientists have not even come close to fully understanding the brain, and cannot determine whether it is driven by pure physics or not. Even if they do someday fully map the brain and discover that it is perfectly understandable using physics, you can't say that disproves free will with certainty. That's because quantum physics, definitely at play in chemical and electrical responses in the brain, doesn't follow newtonian causality, but instead reacts probabilistically, which still allows for the existence of a self and free will.

This is so simple. You are not a brain, but you are a process of your brain.

I'm not even a minute in and I already have to laugh. When we touch a hot pan, our brain doesn't say to pull away at all. That's a reflex connection at the spine. By the time that our brain is receiving the information, we're already letting go and pulling away. Same thing happens every day at the doctor's office with the knee-jerk test. The fact that they don't understand such a widely known and documented phenomenon really removes a lot from their credibility.

Sometimes I doubt if people have a free will! Even when it comes down to the example of choosing where do we want to go for a lunch, I have doubts how much free will is really there. We are just programmed by our past experiences and the brain is just the CPU to process that code.

I have to say something about "stealing intellectual property" first of all if we had to give all our intellectual property back to who we "stole" it from we would know nothing everything we learned in school from our (if you have one) collage education all the way back to Pre-k and even without illegally downloading anything Companies make it abundantly clear that YOU DO NOT OWN their software, video games, or movies your purchase is only permission for personal use of that movie (for example) so therefor if you had invited a friend over to watch that movie with you, that's not personal use you can believe what you will but I believe that in order for a sin to be a sin it MUST affect a real living person and by definition a corporation is it's own person by law but by not only religion but by common sense a corporation as a (legal) person does not have life or a soul, someone must run the corporation but the person who is running the corporation does not own what the corporation owns any more than a child owns what belongs to his/her parents so by that definition you can not steal from a corporation and downloading a movie or software program owned by a corporation or even shoplifting from a corporation's store, is Not a sin, however shoplifting (stealing) from a locally individually owned business is a sin. and using other people's words or copying information you learned to do something for yourself is not stealing because otherwise anyone who has a job of any kind at all would be "stealing" "intellectual property" from countless people in order to preform their job.
