Four cylinder cars use a Flat plane crank ferrari use a flat plane crank in
their V8s same as having 2 four cylinder engines put together. Most other
V8s use a cross plane crank giving more of an even pulse to the exhaust
note.
I'm a little confused. Generally, at low speed and low load the air intake
will run thru the long manifold and at higher RPM and load air will flow
thru the short manifold. This is saying the opposite. Is this just a
different design or is the information incorrect? Everywhere I have
researched says the opposite of what this video is saying. Perhaps the
programming in the PCM uses this, together with phasing and other actuators
to improve the power & economy. What are your thoughts?
