Fired for Religious Views on Sexuality, Navy Chaplain Gets His Job Back | The Daily Signal
After being cleared of any wrongdoing, Lt. Cmdr. Wesley Modder speaks out about the allegations made against him and the current climate in the U.S. military ...
+Kenneth Daugherty ...and a PENIS and a VAGINA create homosexual children too. Do you oppose all non "fruitful" unions? Why are you so obsessed with what other people do in the privacy of their bedrooms with their very own penises and vaginas? Will you not be happy until everyone follows your narrow definition of what is expectable/respectable? Well, I am really sorry but you will never, ever, be happy then. We won't allow religious extremists to take over in the West like they have in the Middle East and how missionaries are spreading hate in Africa. Not here. No way.
What does it mean to marry, for example, taking two parts (e.g. a nut and a bolt) and FITTING them together - i.e. the male fitting to the female fitting. Indeed, the parts fit, the female and male fittings combine. Correct? Yes!!! Does a male-male fitting fit (marry/join)? No! Does a female-female fitting fit (marry/join)? No! Can they produce children? NO!!! When a penis and vagina JOIN (i.e. MARRY), they can produce offspring. That will NEVER happen in a same-sex "marriage." So, homosexuals will have to rely on adopting children who were created by... a PENIS and a VAGINA, a MALE and a FEMALE.
+Kenneth Daugherty That may be your truth but it is not a universal truth. You are describing heterosexual intercourse that does not require marriage and does not need to result in children. nothing more. Plus, Genesis is just a story. A myth. It isn't real and is certainly far from "truth." Sorry. History (AKA TRUTH):During an exchange with Mary Bonauto, one of the lawyers arguing for the plaintiffs, who are in favor of same-sex marriage, Justice Antonin Scalia said, "But I don't know of any — do you know of any society, prior to the Netherlands in 2001, that permitted same-sex marriage?"Bonauto answered that, as a legal matter, she did not.In fact, same-sex marriage has happened throughout the ages, although some cultures might view it through a different lens, experts told Live Science. Here's a look at a few of these unions from cultures around the world, including ancient Rome, Native American people in the American Plains and pre-colonial Africa.//www.livescience.com/50725-same-sex-marriage-history.html
+Kenneth Daugherty This perfectly sums up Modder:Full Definition of BIGOT: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices;especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance— big·ot·ed \-gə-təd\ adjective— big·ot·ed·ly adverb

None of your excuses explain why I, the tax payer, must pay this bigot his handsome salary to spew his religious bigotry. What soldiers need is access to psychologists, trained in science and facts, not religious hocus pocus and bigotry. The only answer to 'why did that happen? why are we here? how can ppl do this to each other' is: "politicians and the military industrial complex want it this way, that's why."
+tjwdraws of course they do - the military is made of human beings, some of which are believers of one faith or another. there is a saying 'there are no athiests on the battle field' - when the soldiers and sailors are in combat they regularly see/do/experience things that are horrific, and they NEED someone to ask the hard questions to 'why did that happen? why are we here? how can ppl do this to each other' chaplains also help thier families back at home - they are there on death notifications. the role of the chaplain is to support, teach, and instruct their soldiers and the army/navy would be shit w/o them. you can't have a military w/o them. sorry you feel differently, though.. its understandable to feel frustration when the subject matter is so divisive.
I've been a 56M for four years now, in the core you work as a assitant to
the chaplain to do all his leg work and much clerical work in all programs
he and the army would like to conduct for your unit your soldiers, he will
at times do clerical work as well so he can help if hes nice. He is your
supervisor and grader both of you are partners and in school you will be
taught idealistically to be like a married couple. Typically their is about
35 chaplain and assistants on a medium to big post like I am stationed in
ft riley. The job is what you make of it and like any job has its pros and
cons. you will not learn anything in AIT as will almost all MOS's you will
begin to learn on the job when you arrive to your permanent duty station,
so you will be lost in the beggining thats normal get used to it, if you
persevere you'll become sharp at what you do. Some chaplain assistants are
either lost like sauce always or not, you choose how to be. The school will
teach you your special and different and I can tell you your not, don't
ever let that get into your head because it is a set up for failure upon
entry to your job as a soldier and a chaplain assistant, we do have a
different job separated from the rest just you and chaplain but believe me
when I say you are just like every other soldier in the army and in your
unit, understanding this principal I believe is the key to success many
chaplain assistant fail to percieve and because of that end up getting i
trouble in the army. Combat you protect the chaplain, usually chaplains are
protected so much so as to not be allowed to not go on missions or close to
any sort of danger, they will fly and be offered some of the safer and
better services in the army during combat operations, to this day I haven't
ever met or heard of a assistant who has lost his life protecting his
chaplain.Sorry for the essay hope this helps you all:)
Leaving for fort Jackson on the 20th of April for this MOS. How is the weekly schedule for this MOS when stationed in the states. Thank you.
