I have to say that I would feel outraged if someone had made my child follow their beliefs because "this book says so". The only thing I think I could compare it to that a fundamentalist Christian could understand is this: what if all schools made it mandatory to teach the Ancient Greek Pantheon as truth to your child, or Satanism, or made them all join some suicide cult?
