Bonds was never found to use steroids, and they were not illegal in 2001. I'm sure he used them, but we probably won't know. And who cares. When he was with Pittsburgh he was great too.

+jetshockey5 agree the guy is in denial but I think what he meant when he said that steroids were not illegal is that MLB had no penalty in place in 2001.  The suspensions didn't start until 2005 after the Canseco McGwire congressional hearings.

Steroids still help you hit the ball. They allow you to have the same bat speed in game 160 as you did in game 1. But Bonds is still one of the greatest hitter of all time either way.
