maybe it would make more sence to upload the soundtracks to another site
with better sound quality? you could then upload a 1 minute video on
youtube with the same title but a link in the description to the actual
soundtrack...whatever thank you for the uploads ^^
+MrDerOutsider That's not a bad idea. The only problem is I hear a lot of people who like to come on here and let the videos play in the background while they're at work, or reading or homework or something else and they like the convenience. I don't know of any particular streaming video (or even audio) site that supports > 44.1 though. I could always upload soundtracks alongside videos in a downloadable audio format but it's twice as much work for me at least and would slow down my uploads by a bit too. In my opinion 44.1 is actually pretty well acceptable for Genesis music--the real machine doesn't put out any sound too far above the nyquist point (approximately 22000hz), and the rest of the high frequencies are just low level noise from the surrounding hardware which isn't desirable anyway. My next upload is being sent at 88.2khz which I am hoping will be a good compromise for the getting the best quality out of my soundcard's DAC and youtube's resampling . There is really no point in my recording these at 96khz in the first place but I figured youtube would possibly pass that quality down to the viewer, but it doesn't. I even did some uploads at 48Khz hoping that youtube wouldn't resample them, but again, it does. Thank you for your input & appreciation however :) My current official policy about uploading high quality files is when 1) someone asks nicely and I have the time 2) multiple people want it.
