It's going to be an uphill argument to dispute the fact that Astaire, over
all the others appearing in dance on screen, is the premier dancer of then
all. It's just not his dance that makes him shine, it's the overall
package, which naturally includes creativity. Which shows in this dance
routine. And his ballet is equally as creative. Notice this in his
teaming with beautiful Charisse in "Dancing in the dark," or with lovely
Texan, Ann Miller, in "It only happens (when I dance with you)." It's
going to be an uphill argument all the way. Anyone?
