That is not a water moccasin. Looks like a rat snake, which are totally harmless snakes. They are good to have around as they eat unwanted rodents etc. Google " Agkistrodon piscivorus" (that's the scientific name for water moccasin) and you can see pictures of what they look like. If you ever see one, it would be wise to leave it alone. They are not aggressive and will not bother you if you just leave them be. Have a great day:)

Thanks you are right. I wasn't home when this happened and didn't see it in person. I grew up at a Rough River Lake and have seen lots of WM. My neighbors pond has a lot of them too and we thought maybe one escaped lol. I raise chickens and sell eggs will a rat snake hurt my chickens? I taught my kids not to kill any animal unless they are going to eat it, that was my son in the video. I'll change the video name.

That is the longest Moccasin I have ever heard of. Please tell me you did not let it live. As far as I am concerned, there are really only 2 kinds of snakes. Good ones and bad ones. The good ones are all dead ones.

My son filmed it, I wasn't home. I've taught my sons not o kill any animal unless it is threatening you or you are going to eat it.

I was at work my son filmed it. I would of just picked it up and relocated it in a nearby creek.
