I love how zakaria tries to be clever by referencing the holy Quran to promote his agenda, i hope any1 watching this video takes the effort to go and look up the reference and see the statement in context, not ignoring the verse before and after...yes indeed the jews have the right to dwell in palestine but they must be humble and not seek to overtake that land. Out of context quoting is an elementary school error. Jews are different to zionist, Judaism is a religion, zionism is nationalism!!!!!

its very interesting how U suddenly speak on behalf of the native americans...they were forced out of their homes just like what the israelis did and continue to do to the palestinians..unless ure telling me the natives happily packed their bags and just immigrated. so no difference there! Hope you watched the video,..and i agree, because there is no theological backing of such a state, in fact it demands the contrary. yet the basis for the re-establishment of the state, was originally biblical!

show me the quote where prophet Moses himself tells the people of israel (meaning the children of Jacob and not a country) to "conquer the land and safeguard it from evil"! logic tells me that is a fabrication, as why would prophet Moses claim to safeguard palestine from Jesus christ and then prophet Mohammad (pbu all), when all of the main commandments of god are consistent in deeds/words of these prophets. surely evil would be secularism and atheism, something that rules over that land today!

oh i agree with a 1 state solution, but a palestinian state, in the form that it was for 1000s of years, with the rights of christians and jews and muslims all guaranteed..as it used to be in palestine. that my friend is the solution, anything else wont stick, the creation of foreign sponsored state at the expense of the people in the region, will not be successful and israel can not survive, hated by 100% of the regions populous! that is logic!..the crimes from its creation, cant be justified!!

see, i am of the opinion that the seeds of prophet abrahim both deserve to live in that land, why cant they live in peace and as brothers...because the jews want to say, no its a jewish state, and the palestinians are only residents of this state...im telling you, there is no biblical justification for setting up a new jewish state..see jews can live there, but the idea that they take over the land by force is not courageous nor bravery....leaving several generations of refugees is not bravery!

every act of aggression has a reason/motivation..youre talking abt the symptoms of the disease...67 died, but 435 jews were saved by many arab famillys..so to focus on specific events, no one is infallible, crimes have been on both sides, but we must address the wholeistic argument, as this wholeistic image will be ignored when focusing on specifics! ok, don't know what you mean by "safeguarding from evil", but im sure its not what moses (pbuh) meant, if he ever said such a thing. in iran there are more/older evidence of jewish culture/community, so does it mean iran should be a jewish state?! ur problem is you see jews as an ethnicity, rather than a religion by the people that lived in that area many 1000s of years ago. Jacob (pbuh) was a palestinian..that land belongs to the people that lived there, be they jewish,christian,muslim..

well your point is hollow, bec. if the US had fully backed israel, whilst imposing an embargo on the rest, that would've played against US and Israel's long term interest..so again, the reality is israel had every support possible but an actual public arms deal......only god knows what happened behind closed doors....my suspicion is, indirect arm shipments were definitely made...itll be naive to think otherwise.

One possible interpretation of what Mr. Ahmadinejad said is whoever he considers a "Zionest" is not a Jew and therefore has no connection to the Middle East. This brings to mind Golda Meir's reasoning that the Palestinians are just Arabs and they can be absorbed by other Arab countries. They both use the same tactics. Relabel your enemy and then deny their connection to the disputed land.
