+Blade Obsidian I don't know. Perhaps the image of the historian's name(Christopher Kelly) was adjusted when the historian was speaking. I'm still fairly certain the Chi-Rho symbol only appears reversed because we're seeing a mirror image.

Wow, never ceases to amaze just how deluded some people are.  If you renounce your God, no matter the circumstances, that only means you have no faith in your God.  If you had true faith death would hardly be frightening to you. Personally, I'm agnostic but I have seen the many barbaric things which muslims do, i.e. the posting of beheadings online.  I've yet to see one of any other religion doing that.  That in and of itself shows beyond any argument ( "Oh, that was done by radicals..blah , blah, blah...excuses, excuses) that at its core, "muslamity" is simply evil more so than other religions.  Additionally, you don't see members of other religions strapping on bombs to themselves and walking into a crowded place to kill as many innocent people as possible. Only muslims have done that. Pure evil.NO religion is any superior to the next and anyone who thinks so hasn't studied the history of religions at all.  They only blather on due to their personal bias, and brainwashing.

It is what religious formalists call the soul and more commonly referred to as the mind. So your mind is a tiny piece of God. So how come then you don't know about God ? because over the years you have filled your mind with other than God. This polutes the mind, leaving it in an impure state, which is contrary to its true and original Godlike state.But here's what is important. No matter how much you fill your mind with other than God, your mind never forgets its original Godlike state. it never forgets God. It is your body that forgets God while singing, dancing, eating, drinking, screwing, etc. So there is a battle that rages between the body and the mind. The body wants to play but the mind wants to pray. The mind tries to remind the body about God. It filters in dreams, visions, inspirations, reminders in an opportunistic manner. But the body which has turned to sensuality doesn't want to take heed. It ignores all prompting and reminders of the mind  to focus on its own sensual pleasure. Even in work it wants pleasure.The soul or mind wants to return to God and take its nourishment from God but the body denies it the opportunity. Only during sleep does the soul get the opportunity to return to God and then sometimes it sends the body dreams and visions to remind it, but the body ignores and forgets. To know God you must abandon sensuality. Mind and body are in conflict.When you feed your body you poison your mind. That is how it works.In spiritual practice, based primarily on meditation we are able to simulate sleep. In this sleepy state the body sleeps while the mind remains awake. Here we observe our mind. We address the mind asking; who are you ? Where do you come from ? What is your purpose.The mind replies; All your life you ignored me while I waited on you. Now you must wait on me while I ignore you.This practice is called introspection or reflection. Also commonly called contemplation.The mind is a rare jewel that knows its value. It is a separate entity that acts on its own volition, independent of body. You cannot demand or force it to give answers. You can only request humbly and wait. it is a microcosm of the universe holding all its secrets within itself. When the mind decides you have waited long enough it will begin to reveal itself and its secrets. Mind and body then become intimate. To accomplish this you must  shut off all senses and attain the no mind state. That is a mind without thought. It is not easy. You must be patient and allow it to happen naturally.Scripture tells us; Our God is a jealous God.What it means is that you cannot approach God with thoughts of other in your mind. God demands all of you so you must clear your mind of other than God. In meditation like wise you cannot approach the mind with thoughts of other than mind. You must clear the mind completely if it is to reveal its secrets and the biggest prize of all, God himself.That is why the no mind state is so important. What you are approaching is beyond time and space and what you are requesting cannot be counted in dollars, gold bars or political clout. It is invaluable and immeasurable. It is salvation from the darkness of ignorance of God and it salvation from the punishment of a life of failure. Your mind will reward you with all its secrets if you can go the full course. It is a long road, fraught with danger and loneliness. If you drop out at least you will understand why so few people know God.There is more to be said about finding God but i must finish now. It's late and I must get some sleep. But can you now understand what you are asking for when you want proof of God's existence.

Truth became the property of a handful of holy men and myth became the toys of the minions. It's still the same today only there are so many more minions and they want to establish myth as the dominant culture.Let's continue...Unless you are destined for it you will not find God easily. Even the most  religious of men don't find God easily, so what chance then does an atheist have of finding God ? It is possible to meet a lot of religious people who have a lot to say about God and yet none of them have ever met God or can prove His existence. There are three reasons for this;1. They have never trodden the path to God.2. The path to God has many drop outs along the way.3. Only the spiritually enlightened can provide instant proof of God's existence. The proof is inserted surgically and bears fruit in an instant. The problem here is that many of the enlightened don't have the ability or the authority to do it. It is the greatest of gifts, given only to a chosen few, for fear of being squandered.There are two types of faith or belief if you wish; the faith of ordinary believers who see nothing of what they believe in and the faith of the elite who see everything they believe in. The latter faith is called certain faith. When you have it you can see God, angels, heaven, hell and everything there is to be seen but which is not visible to the naked eye or telescopes and microscopes. It is seen with the eye of the soul, not the physical eye. Sometimes when we are in a dream state our soul reveals through its eyes the things of the unseen world and we have dreams or visions. What I call 'soul' is the same as what is commonly called 'mind'.  I am now proposing a new look at the proofs for God's existence. In the life of any person there are only two groups of things that concern him (or her). They are what is inside of himself and what is outside of himself. The physical  parts of the body both in and out are included with what is outside.I think we can all readily agree that human beings are primarily occupied with what is outside themselves. And remember that religion has already failed to prove God's existence with explanation of what is outside ourselves.However all three monotheistic religions as well as others like buddhism have perfected the science of the inner self and it is  here where the proofs of God's existence are provided. Where formal religion leaves off, spirituality takes over. Spirituality is the top end or higher order of religion. Formal religion serves as  the foundation of spirituality. There is no spirituality without religion. Many people learned this the hard way by stumbling unprotected into the realm of demons. There is no  way to God without knowledge of God. It is the duty of religion to provide that knowledge, not to show the way or even provide proofs. The latter is the domain of spirituality. But religion doesn't just dump us in the middle of nowhere after it has educated us about God. It hints at the path to God when in the Bible it says ; The kingdom of heaven is within and it hints at the path to God when in the Quran it says ; God is closer to you than your jugular vein. Here are perfect invitations to seek God inside yourself. When God commands HE says ; Purify yourself.Then the invitation becomes an obligation. We are then forced inward to find the origins of our existence and the reasons for being here. ;     

+Brian Y My comments were aimed at christians for a specific reason they would be aware of. It concerns the topic of suicide of which all three monotheistic religions hold a common outcome, which is that the one who commits goes to Hell. The three religions have many differences but this is one area where they agree. Despite this however I must admit now that my statements may have been incorrect. The reason is that religious laws appear and evolve over time,and at this particular time when Perpetua took her own life the law regarding suicide may not yet have been a part of christian canon law. I was not able to confirm the latter because i'm not a christian myself and don't know when exactly the laws regarding suicide were fully adopted by christianity. I only know suicide is refuted by the law by punishment of Hell and that the one who commits suicide cannot even be given a christian burial.I was not intent on getting involved in an atheistic argument. But since you asked nicely I will oblige you. Religious people when asked to provide proof of God's existence traditionally resort to explanations of the physical world around us with all its perfect orderliness and how it provides for all our needs in a way that simply cannot be accidental. It relies on the other party to ponder this deeply because the signs of God's existence, as they put it are numerous and quite intricate in some cases. In this way science comes to be seen as the 'signs' of God and from there hopefully the seeds of faith are planted. These 'proofs' can be revealed in any scientific field such as chemistry, human biology, oceanography, physics, botany, psychology, you name it. Interestingly the debate over God's existence has evolved tremendously over the years. Amongst God fearing scientists the history of the evolution of  this debate itself is used as a proof of God's existence. Both sides of the argument have their die hards and they don't give ground easily. In fact they don't give ground at all. There is zero compromise amongst them. It's like a fight to the death. Religion itself is full of science, but one by one its scientific offerings are being rejected because they don't stand the test of time. They lack the documentation resources, procedures and protocols that modern science demands. They lack the discipline specific jargon that academics love. There are so many other important things that science finds lacking but i won't go into all of them.Science has really vamped up its standards in trying to deal with the religious argument. It demands a lot, quite literally everything that was not available during biblical times. A lot of scripture has been quoted from all the holy books only to be rejected by science. The origins of the religious texts as well as its accuracy were made to look questionable by scientists. I mean a lot of these scriptures contained science that pre dated science itself and also contained science that confirmed modern scientific discoveries. Well chronologically speaking it was modern science that confirmed the veracity of the religious texts. But still excuses were made.I will continue in another post. I'm afraid of losing everything here if i go on too long...  It's painful when it happens.
