I began writing a script for a film adaption of the Hellfighters, as I called them, a week ago, before finding out about this novel and possible film literally seconds ago. I'm a black actor, singer, dancer, and not only was I attempting to honor my history, I was trying to honor jazz, as well as possibly write my own ticket into Hollywood. After so much passion, research, and commitment to this story, I won't rest until I am given the opportunity to be a part of this film. I will not halt my research in the key characters of this true story. I pray I get an audition.
