Is it true that early in the chase when Hackman collides with the white Ford, that scene actually wasn't part of the script because the driver of the Ford had accidently driven on to the film shoot? I read this somewhere years ago.

An interview with the director on the dga website has him saying that the accident was caused by a stunt driver mistiming. However others who were present during filming claim it was a member of the public.

+robert tucker This is true. They didn't have permission to shoot this car chase scene. The guy that got hit, was just going about his day, & was caught up in it unfortunately. They ended up paying him to repair his car, from what I heard.

Robert Mugabe has committed crimes against humanity. He shouldn't be praise but he knew that western powers are the issue in Africa. They'll sanction you at 1st but they'll come ass kissing later for those natural resources. I'm giving the west to much credit, they'll just invade to install a dictator.

Great great film- it's noteworthy also that the FBI agent shot by Doyle is stuntman Bill Hickman, the same guy driving a Dodge Charger in Bullitt.
