Actually, this wasn't a "basic" off camber situation. It was fierce
although the vid doesn't show that. My Samurai has really good articulation
with YJ springs. The problem was about a 20 degree slope to the right plus
the fact that to get up onto this obstacle, I had to put the left tire up
making it more like a 40 degree slope. At that angle, most vehicles are
going over. Plenty of other vehicles have eaten it on this trail. The Moab
Rim Trail is definitely not for the faint of heart.
It gets a little better since you aren't so close to the edge. We ran it a
few years back and just went a little ways past z-turn and came back down.
That was the scariest part! The guy in front of me rolled his friends XJ
going down z-turn. Oh and dont feel bad... I was poopin pretty much the
whole way too.
Yeah, that's the Z-turn. In that little Samurai I was crappin' my pants the
whole way up. The Z-turn at least gets you a good distance from the cliff,
but it's still a really off camber climb up. I didn't get past this point,
obviously. How does the trail get after the turn?
