Yes, Fisk University is an historically black college, the first hbcu to
receive full accredidation. I also know this: the reason Nashville is
referred to as "Music City USA" is because after an 1873 concert where the
Fisk Jubilee Singers sang for Queen Victoria in Buckingham Palace, she
proclaimed, "these young people must surely come from a musical city,"
hence the long-standing title for Nashville, "Music City."
k.d. would have blown them all off the stage. they had better keep her in
the background. She could have cared less, she's modest but had to have
known they couldn't hold a candle to her. 100 years from now, she'll be one
of the few remembered.
it's an 80's country tour package that kd lang was part of - each performer
did a song and at the end, they all came out and did a number. I've posted
kd's solo performance and duet with Rosanne Cash on a separate video
I don't know about the college. kd is from Alberta Canada, and given that
she's a lesbian and a pantheist, it's not very likely that she's racist -
I've never even heard that suggested before.
theyre all a bunch of haters.they wouldnt even let k.d. in on the songs for
lead vocal/duet.her voice is way too powerful for country music.prolly all
homophobes there :)
