YFZ450 ATV water skipping at Little Sahara OK Kyle Patterson
Kyle Patterson on his 2005 YFZ450 at Little Sahara, OK We stayed at Access Properties L.L.C. and the stay was awesome. We have stayed there twice and Mike ...
did you do the oil mod? I had an 04 yfz that was junk but didn't have
oiling problems. Now I'm looking at another yfz since my current quad broke
to pieces. I'd like to go 07+ but it they're pretty expensive so I was
wondering what your experience has been with the 05. Personally I never got
a good shot at seeing for myself with the 04 as it was destroyed when I got
it.
The first time I did it in 4th gear and that was perfect (for that motor).
The second time I was in 5th gear but I started to sink in a little towards
the end. This was when I still had the 05 crank and it didn't quite have
the power to wrap out 5th gear in the sand. All of the 2006 and newer 450's
shouldn"t have that problem though.
@ludachris1996 You just have to go fast and leave it pinned the whole way
through. If you let off the gas at all on the water you'll most likely
roll.. It doesn't matter if it's 3 ft or 300 ft deep as long as you stay on
top
That was pretty badass...I once watched a guy try to do that down @ Little
Sahara and he made it most the way across but towards the end he
rolled..good thing you knew what you were doing though!
