1958 Chevy Nomad Wagon / Low Mileage Survivor in Action
Here is a very rare 1958 Chevrolet Nomad BelAir Wagon. This car is optioned with factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, AM radio, front & rear ...
Basically they just threw the name on there, sort of like giving it too
much credit. It was also used as a trim package for vans in the late
70s-early 80s. In 1958, Chevrolet moved the Nomad name to its top-line
four-door Bel Air based station wagon, right above the new mid-priced
Biscayne based Brookwood. This was the only four-door Bel Air based Nomad
station wagon. The new Nomad featured body-on-frame construction, using the
"X" frame[4] used on other 1958 to 1964 Chevys, as well as Cadillac.
My folks had a '58 Nomad wagon. They bought it used, the previous owner
bought a '59. It was practically factory new. Had the 348, Powerglide
trans, power steering and brakes, radio, heater, two-tone green, very nice
car, first really nice car my folks had. This video really brings back
memories.
@phill903 Nomad for '58 was much different than the sport BelAir 2-door
nomads of 55-57. In 58, you could only order the top-of-the-line Nomad in
4-doors.
