+Stephen Harbor I got mine from a "dollar" store. Not a literal dollar store but one of those stores that sells everything really cheap like dollar general and stuff like that. It came in a pack of 6 pens of different colors.

I bought a red one yesterday to draw lines on white nails for halloween.
Painted the white last night and did the red lines this morning. Waited 30
mins before getting dressed for work and most of the red had worn off.
Repainted at work then covered with a clear top coat, at they smeared. Not
very impressed. Didn't realize they were water based. Not very impressed.
bought one on ebay for $1. It wasn't sally hansen, it was GlobalNail,
pink... After some shaking the paint kind of came out, but not in a good
way. It globbed on the outside and would not dry at all. If I see some of
these sally hansen ones maybe I'll try it.
If I know you at all, you probably went and washed this right off ( if you
were actually going to a wedding that is ahah ) after you were done ahah.
Gorgeous look! :)

Caduceus Medical Symbol Laser Inlay Pen Kit - Pen Turning
I decided I would capture putting together the medical symbol pen kit since it has quite a few tricky small parts. I go over the process of putting the kit together ...
did you have any issues with accelerating the CA glue? Also, it looked
like you started to polish with CA glue, is that right?
And how did you fill the gaps in the engraving? Would have liked to see
that portion.
Other than that, a great job. I am looking forward to making one of my
own.
+John Racela II I know you posted this awhile ago but just now watching the vid- the problem with the accelerator is using too much of it, it can cause the CA to fog up or crack, I live in Texas so we have high humidity but using the accelerator works great! I have had it fog up or appear unclear when I use the CA and accelerator to fill the gaps on the engraving before I turn the pen, I tend to over do it on that step. However, finishing the pen I use both the CA and Accelerator a lot lighter when finishing have had no problems!
+John Racela II I've been using accelerator with my CA finishes since I started and haven't had any issues with it so far. I know that some people swear it will cause cracking and other issues, but I think it just depends on the circumstances. I usually try to let the CA dry a bit first, then hit it with accelerator; and I just give it a light mist. One other thing that may have an effect on how the CA cures is humidity. I live in Nevada, and it's super dry here. I have no scientific support for this, but I wonder if higher humidity might have something to do with the problems people have.I'm not exactly sure what you mean by polishing with CA glue. I apply it, then sand up through the grits, then finish off with a liquid plastic polish. I use the CA glue to fill all the gaps. I use Medium thickness to fill the larger gaps, then just keep applying the Thin until all the little pits are totally filled in.I think you'll enjoy making these. The only issue with them is the amount of gluing and dealing with small parts, but each one I've done has turned out amazing! Thanks for watching!!
Seemed like a race to the finish. would liked to have heard your
explaination on turning with the skew and how much extra CA did you have to
use during the turning process. Does the light wood have a tendency to rip
out? were you using 400 abranet and the stick fast technique on the CA
finish? How many coats do you need on an inlay kit?
Yeah, this video isn't my best, it's one of my older ones. That's what's so great about the comments section though, you can ask all the questions I didn't cover. You don't need to put a ton of extra CA on these kits, you just flood it with CA to get the pieces glued together. Once I have the tube in, I will fill in any pits or voids first, then turn with a skew. I haven't had any issues with tearout with any of the inlay kits. They are doused with CA glue, so tearout shouldn't really be a problem, and using the skew really minimizes any chance of that anyway. For finish sanding and polishing, I use 400 grit abranet, followed by 1000, 2000, and 4000 abralon pads. Then I hit it with plastic polish for the final step. I might have done it a bit different in this video, but that's the schedule I'm using now. Thanks for watching!
