I shall be going this year's event as well as Peterborough is only a 50 minute train ride from London and there is usually a direct free bus shuttle from the railway station to the concourse where the model railway exhibition is held annually.Ash.

Hello Graham,Its certainly a great show and a lot less stressful than some of the other shows that I used to go to. I can actually see the layouts with no roadblocks in the way ;). I bought a model of an Amtrak SDP40F from Mehano (it looks similar to Athearn FP45). I shall be reviewing it along with a couple of other gems that I have bought since the last wave of model train videos that I did back in June this year. Although I shall cover these after my planned trip for more on board bus and train filming as I like to make transport ride videos :). I am waiting patiently for the Hornby Class 56 in Colas Rail livery to come out and also I want the Coal Sector Class 60 that is 60090 which I will buy some HEA hopper wagons to match it as per the 1990's :).Ash.

Hello Robert,Thanks for the positive comment. I really did enjoy the show that day as I was there on the 18th. Its more relaxed and less stressful than some of the other shows that I have been to in the past. To answer your question, you would need to buy a Bachmann Class 170 in any livery and have it resprayed into the One Greater Anglia livery. I would recommend having a word with R3sprays in Falkirk as they have done some fantastic liveries on many locomotives.Ash.

That was one of my favourite OO scale model railway exhibits at the show this year. I was talking to the chap with Ipad controller and if the club is open to suggestions of future trains to consider adding to their fleet. I would highly recommend investing in a Hornby Class 60 and a rake of about 20 of those Bachmann TEA 100-tonne tanker wagons to go behind it as it would fit in nicely with the layout. Something like a EWS/DB Schenker or a Transrail Class 60 would match the Class 395 Javelin but any Hornby Class 60 would be a nice addition. Just out of curiosity, does the club have a website and also can members join the club? Or is it something like a private closed club that is run amongst friends? But it was a cracking event though none the less and you can see the layouts without the roadblocks getting in the way. Daleside Parkway was my favourite as well buddy as its very impressive considering its in N gauge :).Ash.
