The new kind of 'London Wall' is uprising and Simon Jenkins is right! The cluster of probably some 'empty' skyscrapers will change dramatically the 'face', the views and future of London. Change is not always a good thing. Especially as it seems without having at least a 'proper vision' of London's future skyline, which could be 'shared' with the world before it's been actually done. Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new - but let's avoid big massive mistakes...

Yes, and in order to have a view of the River Thames there is no need for tall buildings to be on the banks of the river. The Shard is setback 250m from the bank Thames and enjoys excellent views without dominating the river. As you say, a future vision is necessary.

he Walkie Talkie may have been "waved through the planning process by Peter Rees", but planning permission is not a licence to commit a nuisance, which means the building's owner are going to have to stump up for any damage caused. Whether said owners can obtain any redress from the architect is their problem.
