I made this...I didn't have 1 and 1/2 cups of Pearl Barley.....so I substituted 1 and 1/2 cups of Pearl Bailey......also...If I were your husband...I would shut the hell up....the way you wield that cleaver...I would sleep with one eye open, one for you....and one for the Mexican Drug Cartel that taught you how to cut like that! Just kidding...(I think)

@TheSheChef Great music but lots of drug dealing friends from Mexico/Texas, lotsa speed. No furniture was cool, however! Easier to clean! One day my mother took another "pep pill" & next thing we knew, EVERYTHING was painted flat black. My parents considered themselves straight, lots of red wine & cigarettes, but wow, they sure did love amphetamines. Most of America was on them well until 1980. It cut down on the food budget! Two dollars per day, year after year! Just needed a pill.

I thought the clip which showed your neat, organized, PRETTY food storage space was really impressive. People who don't do any prepping at all, I have no patience with them. My bg is terribly square and yeah, we were poor but despite all my family's dysfunctional mess, we really enjoyed cooking and growing things together. My parents were these beatniks, it got a bit hairy at times. Uprated.

@AdiroundackPrepper SKINNY PEOPLE ARE HARD TO FEED! When I first met Afro I used to tell people his intestines went all the way to his ankles. I was makin like 3 dishes for dinner. Prepping ensures not only our confidence but our comfort right.? Skinny people are MEAN when they are hungry! haha.

Hey, he ruined that lid opening the jar, didn't he? Barley is very purifying. Barley water, barley pap, can be fed to very sick people and to babies. True, it blows up. Many things added to soups have to be cooked separately and added at the last minute. Uprated!

@theshechef I'm glad I don't live there, if I did I'd prolly weigh about 400lbs, lol. I guess after hitting 40 I don't burn it off like I use too. I'll lose weight again this winter because once I get cooking more I won't eat as much, lol.
