This is my unrestored, unmodified old school but incredibly reliable rear-wheel-drive (I am asked if it is RWD a lot!) Anglo-German design 1980 Ford Escort 1.3 L, ...
Brilliant machines - This one's one of the lesser common garden variety
models (has Escort sport wheels though) yet people are always commenting on
it!!! - it me $900NZD five years ago, and it has always been v.reliable
(and interesting to drive, esp filled with passengers at random hours of
the morning lol)! - From what I've seen with the 2drs in particular, they
are starting to command a premium - you going to put your car up on
Youtube...
The two doors are good, but there simply isn't many of them left! (in NZ,
they now command a premium, esp the 1600 Sport model - even if it is only
the bodyshell!) - even 4-doors are becoming rare now! - Having a 4-door
Escort is handy though, particularly when there are backseat passengers
over 6foot tall!!! Interesting you say about the 4-doors, in Australia Ford
sold a 4-door RS2000 variant complete with the slant nose front!!!
Hey Chris! V6 Capris are cool! Just the other day I saw a V6 Capri,
actually a Last of the line 1986 2.8L Injection variant!!! What I know
though is that before Escort in the states, in the 70's there was Ford
Pinto, a small car notorious for its rear mounted exploding fuel tank -
Interestingly, while I've never heard Ford Escort used in song, I've heard
a number of songs with Pinto references!
Yeah, Ford's stylist proportioned the car well (keep in mind it was built
on a modified Mk1 floorpan), particularly with how the back window and boot
were on a similar slant, yet had enough of a kink to show that the boot was
"three-box" - At the same time, I do think it had a slab-sided appearance -
a body-length rubbing strip or stripes though gives a point of difference
in my opinion...
This is a true story right. My dad had 1978 estate version. Had the street
cred of weeing yr pants but i digress. On 2 occasions i caught my brother
having a Tommy Tank in passenger seat. He said he liked the coolness of the
vinyl seats on his Kyber Pass and found it very practical and easy to
clean. Also very sociable as he could chat to neighbour - Mr Phipps whilst
having a pull
There was a lot of scope for modifications in the Escort - In Aussie they
put Cortina 2.0 OHC Pinto's in most models, not just the RS2000; I've heard
of people putting V6s in them, and I've seen heavily modded examples
(likely for track use only!) of ones on NZ's ebay equalvalent TradeMe
fitted with Rover V8s!
Cool! I LOVE old Fords. A guy in my neighborhood when I was a teen had a
'72 Capri with a V6! We didn't get anything called "Escort" in the states
until our anemic version of the MKIII (my mom had one of those clunkers).
escorts are deffo the bomb, mines in project form at the mo, because i blew
the 1600 x flow, so im being crazy and dropping a sr20det out of a silvia
s15 into it, him hoping for new zealands fastest road legal escort
My mom also had a '73 Pinto Pony... the cheapest version. Ugly green with
vinyl instead of carpet and a four speed. No radio no air conditioning dog
dish hubcaps.
Escort was a car in it own group one of the best every to be on the road
and had a lot of room for a bigger engin

Play Dirt 1 with "Real grip mod" or old Colin 2005. I think that those two
games would be too much for you, not mentioning RBR.
Thanks. That is a bug in Dirt 3. The bug came out in version 1.2 and there is no way to fix it except running the original 1.0 or 1.1 version from a DVD. I brought an old copy on DVD and I use that old version which doesn't have the bug.
+Avenga76 I installed that program. But the game across the car was hung by the goal. Would you know how to do work correctly with DIRT 3? Your amazing video! Instalé ese programa. Pero se colgaba el juego al cruzar el auto por la meta. Sabrías como hacerlo funcionar correctamente con DIRT 3? Increible tu video!!
That is strange, I have played it back on my PC and iPad and I can hear the engine fine. Can you not hear the engine at all? Can you hear the co-driver etc? What kind of device are you playing the video on?
