Same problem as you mate, my alternator is starting to go so i'm guessing thats the same as your problem, are you running an amp? the alternator could have trouble keeping up with your power consumption. Let me know when you find out the problem

Also sounds like you could use a valve adjustment, if so you'll notice an increase in power, and better gas mileage...shoot...maybe some lucas oil stabilizer will help quiet the tick down. :)

if you're talking about the humming noise, its gonna be your timing belt tensioner, its either too tight or just bad... good luck..Eric

Yes believe it or not my belt was loose n it made same sound that's prolly why your not running right my car runs awesome now

Yeah mate. its the dephaser pulley that controls the vvt. Not a cheap fix but wont cause any issues if left. It will just keep sounding more and more like a diesel. Get yourself signed up on cliosport . net Loads of info about this common problem on there.
