the guy running the 5 projectors had it easy, at my old job as a
projectionist i had to run 20 by myself and I was expected to stay on time
during my 11 hour shifts...
not that i expect anyone who hasn't worked in projection to understand what they are looking at or what it takes to get that film through the projector before you can run it... I liked the job but it was a grueling and repetative job... the only excitement happened when film broke... lol... but i had enough to do keeping track of 20 different theatres. most companies would split that many between 2 people i hear, but the company i worked for were cheapos...
I loved being a projectionist when I was in high school! Never once had a
brain wrap! Too bad all of these film projectors are being replaced with
digital ones.
+Ashley Taylor I agree very much so, hence why I created a group to fight for the remaining places that can display 35mm film: https://www.facebook.com/fightfor35mmfilm
Polish Tango: Mieczysław Fogg - We dwoje, 1932
Mieczysław FOGG & Ork. Krasińskiego i Zuck'a - We dwoje (Just Two of Us) Tango z rewii „Parada gwiazd" teatru Morskie Oko (Artur Gold -- Andrzej Włast), ...
Sadness can often be a state of repose. I can hardly remember situations in my life when being "happy" (in a "keep smiling" style) or agitated gave me any peace. Cheers to you, my dear
With today's advanced methods of characterization it's no problem to do in five minutes Miss America from the kitchen broom :-) Back then they really had to work hard for a while before they could walk out on stage.
Lovely material in a dreamy interpretation. It is not in the least
difficult to understand Fogg's popular status in Poland, along the lines of
Crosby's in the US, with that beautiful voice and handsome face. It says,
of course, so much more about his character that he did not succumb to the
oppressive presence of Germany and remained loyal to his country, the
victim to a powerful evil.
I remember, in the 1980s when Fogg was still very active on air, stage and tv, there was a rather nasty joke about Polish archaeologists who digged out a mummy during their excavations in Egypt. Mummy opened her eyes and said: Oh, Poles! How nice. Is Fogg still singing there? Ofcourse, the joke was nasty, yet clearly showing, how much a part of the Polish history his singing has became.
Hello Grzegorz and everybody who loves your uploads - this Tango is super
beautiful. Fogg does great vocals but Wlast penned fantastic lyrics with
the music by Gold - which is divine. All those Polish stars who
impersonated the international celebrites - frequently surpassed them in
their beauty and talent. Have a great Saturday - thanks a million for this
fabulous Tango. Sending all of us lots of spring greetings from hilly,
breezy, sunny vicinity of New York City!
+Szum starej płyty Dziękuję :-)) rzeczywiście, Fogg jakby chciał zacząć jakis inny tekst, ale zaraz się połapał. Pewnie stale miał w głowie tuziny różnych tekstów, do tego większość Własta, czyli raczej podobnych do siebie. Pozdrawiam.
Mandaryna). Pozdrawiam :-)
BOOOO HOOOO.....
Grzegorz,
I LOVE this Beautiful Tango, Fogg's Plaintive vocal and YOUR Marvelous
visual.
I so BADLY want to go to Morske Oko.
I wish The Morske Oko would drop down like Brigadoon so we could see one of
these brilliant productions. Thank you so much for another Glorious visit
to this
pre war Club of Divine Music and Glittering Polish STARS and ARTISTS.
Millions of Gwiazdki

telle pièce;
