I started in the '70's. A lot has changed over the years. I started out and
we barely had bandages and oxygen. Now we have 12-lead EKG’s that we
transmit to the cath lab physician, automatic cpr machines, ventilators,
medications, and a full array of advanced airway management abilities. We
are looking at ISTAT lab studies for sepsis, myocardial infarction, and
blood gases. Ultrasound is also on the table for future use. College
education for all paramedics is also becoming the standard.
The guy at 7:35 isn't wrong there are times that we can't do anything like

I just became certified as an emt over the summer and I hope to get hired

medic one day.
+braveheart885 I guess hospitals and EMS systems work differently around the country. Makes sense though. Here in NYC you only call notes if pt is not stable. Other then that, when you arrive you register etc.
+braveheart885 no. Absolutely no need to give a notification to a hospital of a stable patient. Let alone go lights and sirens for ABD pain. Unless their vitals aren't good. In that case. The only reason to go lights and sirens. Or even give a note is if you rule out eptopic pregnancy
