I don't get my meet & greets with Gaston filmed bc I usually see him by myself, (although you can see me in the Calendar video)but my daughter came to this one ...
I honestly hope he has 10 little girls! He's just the sweetest with them!
Great upload, as always. Nice to see you in it too, Debra! Though I
wonder... what is your daughter's opinion of Gaston?
+Debra Gallagher I didn't think I was either... but evidently that's changed! This "why is egocentric kind of attractive" discussion happens often within my circle of friends. We have discovered no definitive answer. lol
+Hevynly1 Thanks! My daughter says 'he isn't my type' and she isn't into 'egocentric', so she gives Gaston a hard time lol...but at least she can speak to him, something I just can't do!

Gay Marriage
I'm all for equal rights. Whatever floats your boat, it doesn't bother me - in fact it doesn't affect me at all. If you want to get married to the person you love and that ...
+theNorthernDogStar You are absolutely right. I deserve that chastisement since I'm quite enamoured with RoofBottery myself but I've been dealing with software issues concerning my swimming pool of late (which has caused a few failures to produce videos lately also). Gah. Software. It's not rocket science. If only it were that easy.
well...one thing tho. "it gives a male exclusive access to one females
womb" - good thing that marital rape has been illegalized (at least here in
germany). there is this very ugly line about that sort of thing that goes
"why did i marry her in the first place" that tries to justify marital
rape...that is where it comes to what you said there, in a very uncomfy
way. but of course, you didnt wanna insinuate anything like that. i know.
just popped into my mind like that, man.
i could not care less about gay marriage. if two people feel they are
destined for each other and want that signed down on paper getting it
officially okayed and stamped - let them.
+fluffymcdeath yes, true. to be honest, the sentence "what did i marry her for then" ....well. it DOES ring true to my ears. its very uncomfy to admit. but yes, there is that term like "marital duties" meaning sexual activity, and that isnt called "duties" for nothing, i guess. oh wow, i just googled it how its called in english properly. connubialities. WHAT a word! so, no to sexual violence against anyone. but still: "why did i marry her in the first place." .....hm.
+Die Lichtorgelsauna No you are actually quite right and it's not incidental but fundamental to "traditional" marriage. Marital rape has not been "illegalized", it has been created. It is now a crime in many jurisdictions but there are still countries that don't recognize it (mainly African and Middle Eastern nations, but also China). The Soviet Union recognized marital rape in 1960 but the last state in the US to lift the exception was in 1993. Even Ireland recognized this crime in 1990 but Germany only in 1997. For most of human history the idea that having sex with your property (erm, spouse) could be a crime was unimaginable because of what marriage is - an agreement entered into to make children of a known origin. If you have agreed to make babies then anything that would get in the way of that is a breech of contract. What we have these days is nothing like marriage as it has been predominantly known for thousands of years.
I agree that the whole notion that government has to license you to marry,
is ridiculous. BUT, since it does, it has to be available to anyone who
wants it, not just those who want to procreate and pass on their
inheritances. We DO live in the 21st century now, and not the middle ages.
I've been in a relationship with my partner for over 30 years now, without
being married, mostly because for most of that time, it was illegal. Now
that it's legal, we've yet to really find a need for it. There are some
legal ramifications that it would solve, but there are also so hurdles. On
a personal level, we don't need a governmental license to express our love
for each other. That just allows them to tax us differently and think they
have control over us.
But I do fear that NOT being married could keep us from making sure the
other is taken care of if we die, or need to make decisions in emergency
situations. Lots of gay people are adopting and there are problems with
that if they're not "married." I've seen family members take away the
children of their deceased loved one, and not recognize the gay partner at
all.
Marriage in the 21st century is more about defining each person's rights
within a relationship, than anything else.
+july1962 Since marriage has long past stopped being what it was made for I have no qualms about opening it up for whoever wants it. I see no reason why two gay people can't marry, nor do I see any reason why brothers and sisters can't marry or why people shouldn't be allowed to marry their pets, their horses or furniture. There are people who might say that allowing that would be demeaning to the people who are currently married but then those people would just be making the same argument that the fundies make today. As for kids being taken away - that happens in "traditional" marriages as well - it's all about who has the biggest stick up their arse and the best lawyer. Just because the state recognizes a marriage doesn't stop your relatives from being dicks.
+Kevin Kent When I say "livestock" here I am speaking from the king's point of view (or the state's point of view) where the, what we now call the "human capital", has to be bred, raised and managed for the proper strength and functioning of the realm (state).
+Kevin Kent What you say about "equal rights" reminds me of this clip from the Life of Brian:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFBOQzSk14cbecause, for centuries marriage has been about breeding up your subjects and keeping track of who is responsible for whom but in the latter part of the last century it seems to have become a way to share your extended healthcare with another person. I just don't see that marriage imparts any advantage over civil union ... for anyone.Traditional marriage, for those who care about such things, died, as I said, when they stopped stoning (or hanging) people for adultery.
+Kevin Kent Well, I'm actually not even in favour of marriage for straight people - if you read the description. I guess I should make a video where I read the description because, of course, a lot of the point is lost without it if you don't pick up on what I'm aiming at here (and the description is hard to find if you watch youtube on a phone) - marriage is an archaic institution that's really more about managing human livestock than it is about love and I think it's ridiculous that people still feel the need to ask the government for permission to be together.
I have gay friends that would clearly argue with the point your making about gay marriage I found it really hurtful that you would even say it though I'm a stright guy your saying there is no point in gay marriage ? What about equal rights? I'm a strong supporter of gay marriage
+Kevin Kent Probably not anymore! :D When I was more involved in theatre and TV I had openly gay friends but we didn't "hang out" much because they often liked to go do things that didn't interest me and the clubs they went to were a great place to bring a girlfriend, but not a great place to find a girlfriend. Nowadays I'm a software developer and there seem to be less gay people in this milieux - in fact, not too many actual human beings for that matter. Some of my colleagues may be gay, but I really wouldn't know. Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if I have many friends of any kind - if by friend we mean someone who would help you hide a body. Suddenly I feel dreadful about my life.
