I guess I am just so caught up on brands. Mercedes is THE brand I have been dreaming about. Ok, obsessing more like it. ;-) Twenty years in the military and never once bothered to get one. Now that I am retired and on a fixed income I find I want all of the" nice" things in life. Go figure. ;-)

Depends where you live. For example is Southern California a beautiful 2002 S430 or S500 can be had for $6000 dollars.  Someone paid about $80K for this car in 2002.  What I say is,I am letting a doctor drive my future car for a few years - hehe.  The 2002 S430 I have is so smooth.  Parts are cheap on ebay too. I replaced the coolant  reservoir for $27 bucks with free shipping and German made. Youtube shows you how to fix just about everything so is easy to fix.  Walmart has great oil and you pay a shop $20 labor to change it for you so for $50 you go 10K miles on that fully synthetic oil.  My registration is only $89 a year.  I am telling you it is possible,

+Eddie Leal Buy one a few years old for best price and you will be surprised you can have one for no much more than a new standard car.
