more reflective than the stock case...not sure how anyone would expect spray paint to mimic real chrome...ejwaite05's comment at least has something to offer and recognizes this is a youtube video and not the same knowledge students spend money/hours on to become pros. not normally how almost everyone here react, when you see how much this guy does for you all and just for free!! just what Firebird2012 said ....He is just trying to help people have a little respect for him. oke maybe this project of chrome was not so very well , But you can also just say it like: Sorry dude but I found this not so beautiful. or give him advice on how he could have done better. but then to say that he should DIE and that he is a son of a prostitute???? chrome my ass! if you're going to do this, he's right about the gloss black part, but as far as the "chrome" paint put semi light coats let it dry about 5 minutes between coats. dry enough that most of the tackiness is gonetwo of the lighter coats followed by a heavier coat, then a wet coat. if your going to clear coat it (using cans) you must spray the clear directly after the color, still waiting a few minutes between coats. I've just finished painting my 97 prelude using this method .

I am personally not a fan of faux-chrome it never looks like chrome to me. When I think of chrom I think of the old tri-five chevy's with their huge chrom bumpers. I mean, it should be essentially mirror-finish and I have never seen that come out of a can, nonetheless, good on you for doin the vid for those who want to go this route

dude looks like you should have just sprayed it like the black. it really looks like you were cheaping out on the chrome. it shows at the end that you just "dusted" it and doesnt look like chrome. It looks like a glossy black with chrome dusting. Sorry not trying to be a dick.

if you use liquid chrome, or even better spectra chrome system it actually LOOKS like chrome from the old days. I know how you feel though, I grew up building mopar resto-mods with my dad our last good one was 67 Plymouth belvedere with a 440 I miss that car

I agree! mostly a bunch of spoiled little bastards that could only get mommy or daddy to write a check for what they want for their car. it really depends on two things. 1 products that you use, and 2 and most important how well you do the prep work

i've been impressed by all other video's, but you haven't convinced me with this one tony, sorry. and I also think a metallic silver or grey primer surface would work better. But it is highly reflective, I have to give you that !

Sorry guy,but that is not chrome enough for me.It looked like there was way more shine and reflections when it was just gloss black,before you added the "chrome" spray.Nope,definitely not chrome enough for me.

i hate to say it, but this looks like shit, it looks like it has a ton of fingerprints on it, scratches are visible, and it doesn't even look that chrome to begin with!

hmm this isn't really chrome finish. looks more like silver/grayish. high gloss base black+clear coat+strix chrome+buffing cloth give more of a chrome/mirror finish

thats cool i followed your steps and my slim xbox has a glossy chrome. when i shine a laser it reflects all the way down my street. (my laser is a 1500 dollar laser)

I bought a can of chrome spray paint at AutoBarn, One can. I did use a rustoleum primer underneath, but have to admit. The $4 can from autobarn looked way better.

Thats no chrome and the reflection on the spray can is the lacquer and the polish you put on if you want a real chrome effect you want to buy montana spray paint
