Bicycle propelled lawn mower deck, prototype 1
IF YOU"RE GOING TO MAKE ONE OF THESE UNHOLY THINGS, make a very long trailer tongue for it, and mind your Ps and Qs on attachment points.
If I built another one, I would just cut a 4" circle from a steel plate or
aluminum plate, and make a 4 string trimmer head out of it. Without pulley
and belt reduction, it would take some more muscle from the motor to run,
but it can work. I did it before on a push mower converted to string head
lawn whacker. I used to mow alleys and dog pens and there was always
something in there to bust a mower blade on. hahaha
Try this! watch?v=Lff5OehkQCA . I have one of these and it's great for
mowing if you don't care about the manicure cut. You might be able to bolt
on a bicycle trailer arm (try Amazon). You should add a guard behind your
bike or on the weeder mower somehow because those do throw things! Maybe
turn it around and mount the arm behind, then you could keep the stock push
bar and just fold it down while biking.
If you mean a reel-type mower, it might, if it gets enough traction. If you
mean attaching the tow-bar arm to a generic mower, I suppose it would work,
but it would be hard to steer, and hard to pull. This one works easily
enough on yard that has been mowed sometime in recent weeks. It is heavy.
If I had anyone to weld things for me, I could make it a lot lighter .
Whatever you do, be careful! Holy cow, maybe use a longer tow arm. I'm
making one out of square tubing. I want the mower back a couple more feet.
If you go a steady pace on known terrain, I think it's fine, but be careful
because it can throw dirt clods at your feet. I haven't had problems with
it throwing grass (it goes out the back).
