@SicaGR - First let me say that pennyweight (DWT) is a measurement of Troy
ounces just as grams is. I'm tired of other buyers making claims that
others that have pricing in pennyweight "manipulate" their numbers. We're
all in this together as buyers so when everyone is saying lies like this it
hurts the entire industry. Point blank: 1 Troy Ounce = 20 Pennyweight 1
Troy Ounce = 31.1 Grams Either way you do the math the numbers always come
out the same. As buyers our job is to post prices for each
Thanks for the tips guys. Just wanted to alert all gold buyers on the forum
that there is a string of cons out of FL that are selling fake gold
medallions stamped 18K and they pass acid tests and even the electronic
tests. They are selling these throughout the US even here in AZ. The only
way to tell is using STRONG rare earth magnets and by scratching deep into
the piece to test. I was told by the Mesa PD to alert any buyers I know.
They weigh 1 oz and apparently there are a lot out there.
@SicaGR -Yes very true. I had a piece last week that a customer bought from
JC Penney's she claims and it was fake when we tested it. If you're a
customer it's a good idea to take along a magnet with you when your buying.
It's rare for a department store to carry fake merchandise but it has
happened.
@Gold4Giving ah let me clarify what I mean. I do understand Pennyweight is
another measurement. But I'm glad you clarify that you give both. Many
don't. And by many I mean many of these 1 day only set up at a hotel type
companies. Another one they use grains. Many confuse it with grams.
Hi. Well, finding the gold is the challenge. Most people have a party and
invite everyone they know. We've done parties and public buying events to
find the gold. Also, our refiner's pay 95% of the real value. Watch our
series and drop me a line if you have questions. Thanks, Tek.
In FL you need a liscense to buy silver & gold scrap but for the most part
they are very truthful in this video. Granted business need to make money
too but many companies out there manipulate their numbers. Using things
like penny weight instead of grams or Oz.
I'd like to get involved. First where do I find gold and then where can I
get top dollar for it? I'd love to find a 90% return on the real value.
Thanks!
@Gold4Giving - Actually believe it or not many people have bought gold from
major stores only to find out it's not gold either. But that is good advice!
YOU AINT GETTING SCraP OUT OF ANY YARDS ! dUmPSTERS YES BUT BE CAREFUL IF
THAT DUmPSTER IS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY YOU MAY GET in a lil bit of trouble
for tresspassing and reciving stolen property ! Any tarsh put on the curb
is free to take no one owns the trash on the streets it's free money at
your feet every day ! I do this f/t now and this past year made $45,000 5-6
days a week about 6 hrs per day average time counting stripping the wire
collecting it and cashing in at scales makes it 8 hr day
I tried to burn just a couple of wires with it just to see if it worked.
The wire that was not a solid wire but had several strans of very small
wire wrapped up did not work at all. It pretty much just turned the wire in
to badly burnt wire that isn't good for anything. Then the larger wire
didn't work very well either. I won't be burning wire. It did help a little
to heat up some of the old wire that had a hard cover when stripping but it
was time consuming so won't be doing that either.
holy cow i wanna follow her around thats like 2- 300$ worth for only $3 !
YOU aint buying even a gal of gas for $3 ; striping all that wire and
cleaning up the pipes ! yeah would take about 10 hrs but to make $30 an
hour strip n clean it all up even reg applainace wire or extension cords if
you have a lot of them it's worth stripping for $3 a lb instead of a $1 a
lb
i know exactly what you mean man same here but something i do as well is
the night before trash pick up in my small town i drive around and see if
anyone threw out appliances or anything one time i found almost 300 feet of
house wire i striped it all even the black and white wire it was easy if
you get a certain razor blade that lowes home depot etc sells
@81Donnie You just need to clean up the copper so that it doesn't have any
impurities on it. Be sure to remove all the solder or you could cut off all
the parts with solder and the joints then sell the clean copper for #1 and
the dirty copper for #2.
Three bucks? wow i need to start going to garage sales! There are also some
good tips on where to find scrap metal like copper, stainless, bronze, and
steel @ wheretofindscrapmetal(dot)webs(dot)com if you guys are interested.
Have a great day!
@storminnormanz Some new laws for 2012 require a Fire Chiefs declaration
that the burnt wire came from a house fire. Check your state before you go
to the trouble of burning it. Un-stripped wire goes for a $1.00 a pound in
most states.
I actually tried that on the small wire and it made the wire brittle and it
broke easily. The quality of the wire was such that I don't think the scrap
yard would have bought it.
