@SunnyHappy2008 Thank you for standing up for those who have been raped. While I have not been (thankfully) I do feel strongly sympathetic towards the women and men that have been raped. Accusing someone of rape is a strong charge, but should be taken seriously by everyone; both the prosecutor and the defense. What hurts my heart the worst is that in some middle eastern countries they almost always will shame and let the women who have been raped be killed, but the men are rarely charged at all.

A man falsely accused of rape has been badly wronged, but a victim of rape has been horribly violated; worse, a female victim may be seen as a slut or to have been asking for it, or even guilty of buyer's remorse, while a male victim will most likely be seen as weak and lacking "male-ness".

I'm so sick of hearing about these phony "rape" cases. Yes, many of them are legit, but many of them are not. And, please, don't say that because someone was convicted of a crime, they're definitely guilty. Innocent people get convicted all the time in this broken criminal justice system. As for the investigation into this girl's past, of course it's warranted. Diary entries? Who knows what she wrote in those diaries? Who's to say those diary entries wouldn't shed some truth on this case?

That's what she tried to do to those lacrosse players -- ruin their lives forever by sending them to prison and being forced to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives (if they survived prison). False rape accusations are evil and should be punished the same as first degree murder. Crystal Mangum wasn't even charged with PERJERY! The evil bitch walked away scot-free.

I would say that people who lie about being raped should be punished, however they should be punished no differently than any other person who files a false charge. There are plenty of rapes that happen out there but never get reported. The reason I feel rape victims need to be handled delicately is that they are more emotionally unstable than victims of most other crimes.
