Holy crap!!! I got mentioned on this. Guys, I REALLY wasn't trying to be a
hater. I understand that SOME of these guys are athletic, but they are
SHOOTERS first. Same with the golfers and NASCAR drivers. There are plenty
of unfit drivers, golfers and shooters. Many of them couldn't run two miles
if a pack of wild dogs were chasing them.
I am a soldier that runs 15-20 miles a week, weight lifts, Cross Fits
and practices some martial arts. That is done in my free time. There are
still all the Army physical requirements (runs, ruck marches PT tests) that
I have to stay in shape for too. I consider myself an athlete that shoots.
Like Noir said, we need to change the perception of shooters. This was my
first episode, so I didn't know he mentioned this in episode nine.Too many
times I have seen beer bellied "experts" doing gun reviews. I really have a
hard time taking them seriously when they are resting the pistol/rifle on
their guts.
+Kimber Lover I can agree with that. However I believe the fitness part would fall in line with having to stay in shape just to fit in the car. Same as a fighter pilot staying in shape to fit in the jet and to be able to handle the pressure of forces they endure. I think we could both agree there are many different forms of athleticism. A power lifter may be strong but most cant run for very long and a track runner may be able to run far but are not as strong. Once again I intend no disrespect. I would like to keep the comment section of this channel friendly so mr. Noir will continue to read our thoughts and feelings.
+trutexas34 Yeah, I understand you point, but I still would not define that as physical fitness. They are sitting and enduring a physical strain, but I bet a lot of them couldn't run under their own muscle power for more than 30 minutes. I think what the NASCAR drivers are doing would fall under task-specific, physical conditioning.
Much respect for your service. im not a NASCAR or golf fan and watching either would put me to sleep. How ever those two activities are classified as a sport and take mental and physical training with lots of practice. the ones that are good enough and lucky enough get to go pro. Sorry for any hate mail but you did offend quite a few people. Just choose your words a little more carefully next time to prevent this kind of stuff.
