I am not politicalising or something else. Uyghur call their homeland Uyghuristan or East Turkistan abroad. It would be nice if you could name it as East Turkisan or Uyghuristan as we Uyghurs call it when we are abroad. Xinjiang Uyghur Autonmous Region is the name forced to Uyghurs. After the occupation of East Turkistan, The Chinese populaion has rosen to 9 million then 200,000. "urumqi" is a Mongolian word meaning "pasture". It's Mongolian because Urumqi is located in what was a land of Mongols. In FACT, NORTHERN Xinjiang, traditionally known as the Dzungharian Basin, was home of the Mongols and the far northern section of NORTHERN Xinjiang is the home of the Kazakhs. There were no - NONE WHATSOEVER - uighurs in NORTHERN Xinjiang until the 1800s. The uighurs ONLY started to migrate to NORTHERN Xinjiang *from their homelands in SOUTHERN Xinjiang in the 1800s* AFTER the Han/Chinese had started migrating to NORTHERN Xinjiang *in the mid-1700 and turned Urumqi from a small fort into a city.* The Han/Chinese economic development of NORTHERN Xinjiang AND ESPECIALLY URUMQI *starting in the 1700s,* is what brought impoverished uighurs *TO MIGRATE* TO NORTHERN Xinjiang in the 1800s *from their homelands in SOUTHERN Xinjiang.*
