I was never a CNA during nursing school and now as an RN i really wish I
had. At work I do try to not to put too much stress on my CNA's because I
do understand that they are just as busy as we are. If i'm in the room and
my patient needs to be re-positioned or toileted or need water or whatever
I'll do it myself. But sometimes I find that I end up falling behind in my
nursing duties because I'm spending too much time doing CNA duties. I'm
still a brand new RN and I haven't gotten the the whole multi-tasking, time
management bit down.
What ticks me off an an aid (RN fellow...whatever), I think I annoy my
nurses. I feel like yes...they have a huge responsibility but i also feel
like I need to communicate relevant information such as...a patient has not
urinated or had a BM in an entire shift or the patient is requesting pain
medication or the patient's family/patient has a question that I cannot
answer. There are nurses who make me feel comfortable because I feel like
they sincerely care but I have literally been
If I ever have to leave the floor, or even when I go on break- The day
shift RNs will actually make me a to-do list to give me for when I get
back. Pts could be waiting half an hour to use the bathroom. I do greatly
appreciate the hard work many RN's do. Others will answer call lights and
accept a cna's job description as a part of their own. When it comes to pt
assignments- I have 17, they have 3-4. I can only do half their work, if
that on a busy day. Thanks for posting this!
Another pet peeve is when patient's are bad mouthed behind closed doors. I
guess I was born with some god inspiring empathy because I do not look down
on my patients. Some can be a little needy or even manipulating but once I
recognize this I regard this as an insecurity, stress, or even in many
cases, a mental illness that has not been diagnosed. I was taught to be
empathetic and I am. I feel like I am one of a very few. :/
I work in a hospital setting and as a CNA and Nursing student I see way too
much laziness. Its ridiculous! Like Liev4life said, they get annoyed when
communicating with them about pain meds, IV problems, med questions, dr
visits etc, because it means they have to DO SOMETHING. Some nurses I work
with think their job is to pass meds and sit on their butt at the nurses
station and chart things they dont even do!
What probably ticks me off is when a nurse is in the room, and telling the
patient to ring the call light for snacks when it literally takes them less
then a minute to just bring some snacks to a patient. When a patient rings
repeatedly that there iv pump is going off, and a nurse tells me to go in
the room and silence it while she's on facebook.
Tak gaduh kau cakap. Diorang ni tengoj musim. Banyaknyer si merah tu bedal
si putih. Sedih jugak. Tapi tang putih bedal merah lagi sakit hati. Koyak
ekor merah tu. Nanti la gua up video baru. Si putih tu pon lebih 12 inci
