If you dont have the etc files check for any posibility that you have
created a different folder than the etc one while in the folder the etc one
should be in, also if you cannot run as admin try as normal, if that does
not work try to run the hosts file as admin by right clicking or logging in
as admin

if thats the case, then you are not actually editing as admin, you may want
to check your users on the computer for anyone who may have admin powers or
you may have a malicious program stopping you from recieving admin powers

what should be in the notepad is posted in the descriptionnow, if you have
to, make sure you can save before closing the pad, if not, try to save when
you close the notepad.

what if it tells me that i can't save it in the folder cause im not admin,
but i am admin, and it asks me if i want to save it in my folders instead

open notepad up first but right click and open as admin, and then that
should solve your problem

first run notepad as admin, then pick open, then go computer, C disk,
windows etc...

i tried to check disk (c:\) and restart it when checking it and done,
nothing happened then theres a serious error (a log of this error has been
created)
then i close it it closes and opens back.
can you find a way to fix this without using chkdsk in xp? (here's my error
