Amazing that nothing is mentioned about the money & it's affect on corrupt politics that have led to this horrible mess in our state! The film is lovely. We should all, indeed, try to live in harmony with nature. But we can all do this and it will have no impact on the health of our state as long as the politicians and big money agree to ignore what we all want our home to be. We need to get money out of politics! Those representing big money need to represent the people.

The entire watershed is covered with sprawl. Massive quantities of contaminants are borne into the lagoon or leach through the sandy soil and porous aquifer. Run-off is whisked through a stagnant drainage system that spews a toxic cocktail of petroleum products, fertilizer, herbicides, insecticides, sewage, debris and refuse directly into the fragile ecosystem, unfiltered. Everyone with a St Augustine lawn and a seawall is guilty. Do you really want to heal the IRL? Rallies, petitions, oysters, and another ditch won’t do it. Developers hatched ill-conceived schemes. There is a tragic flaw in our system, we think we can sell and control everything. The shores of the IRL, and the barrier islands should never have been sold as real estate and developed as an urban entity. We will have to remove most of the population, restore watershed habitat, fill in the canals, etc.

+Chip Curry We can't change past mismanagement but we can move forward properly to stop causing this undue hardship on the water quality and wildlife and in time it'll fix itself! There is no one thing you can point to as the cause, a lifestyle change is needed and every individual needs to decide and commit. Don't underestimate the small things either!
